Ads!!!!

I have to agree on that one! I had one yesterday that was a Palm Pixie come floating across the screen. Got halfway across and then actually crashed the browser (FF 3.6.8). Never had one actually do that before...

It would be nice if we could be exempt from ads. I'd have to guess you make far more from our $20 then you do off the single ad impression every time we load a page.

You're supposed to have less advertisements, but I'm not a premium so I wouldn't know about that.

You could take this to the Suggestion Box & Feedback. ;)

If I remember correctly when the Premium members were set up, MODs and Guides have all the benefits that a Premium members get. Could you clarify this for me, Frisco?

I'm not Frisco, but I do know that Guides can't access the VIP section. They get 500 private messages instead of 50, bigger avatars and custom titles though. Moderators have a few things different, like the 5000 private messages, VIP access and so on.

I'm not sure about ads though.

Chrome can block the ads too.

But then AForums wont get any advert money. :(

*points* you see that itsy bitsy Ad bar at the top of the site? :p

It's popup that interferes with a member's AF browsing experience. I mean, I'm all about the advert money, but not at the expense of usability like ads that pop up for 10+ seconds, no option to exit. Though it only happened once...when I refreshed...it was there again o_O

Well Chorme is Google's...so what do you expect? Google = Ads ;)

lol

Firefox only blocks pop-up ads, I still get imbedded site ads.

By embedded ads do you mean tracking cookies or ads that aren't 'pop ups' but are actually stuck next to the AF logo?

Are you using noscript? I'm using noscript on firefox (add-on) and I don't see even the ads that aren't pop-ups. Haven't seen any in ages. There are about 6 active scripts on this website and I have all but one necessary script (androidforums.com) blocked.

It's a great way to protect your computer on the internet from malicious attacks and tracking cookies too. Fantastic add on if you are using Firefox and want to up your security - I highly recommend.
