Financial/Budget app that syncs.

I have been searching for a financial/checkbook/budget app that will sync with my banking account and credit cards. The only program I have found is Buxoid. There must be others out there. I don't really want a program where I have to manually transfer data from my bank. Any ideas?

Trouble is mint IS online, why would you want all your financial data entrusted to an outside source? Right now there is one app like this Quicken and pocket quicken which runs on winmo, and a few other older platforms. It hasn't been updated yet and likely won't. That means all us pocket quicken users are on a short time line to migrate as win mobile 7 will end being able to use it.

Security isn't the issue, it is managing the use of proprietary formats.

Erm... if like the OP says he wants it to sync, it's going to require an internet connection. Also, Mint.com is owned by Intuit, who also owns Quicken and Turbotax so I'm not sure I fully understand the problem Eryl?

There are plenty of apps on the market where you can manually enter data, but that pretty much eliminates the purpose of having it sync, and I know at least a few major banks have apps on the marketplace (<3 USAA!)

I don't want a bank app, I have accounts all over.

I currently use Pocket Quicken on my Winmo phone and use Quicken Desktop on my Windows PC. I use Pocket Quicken on my phone as a check register. Every transaction I do, goes in there. When I get home, I sync to my Desktop Quicken. Then weekly-biweekly I sync the Desktop Quicken to my banks online. At this point I get to accept the new transactions that come in. Those that don't match with ones I entered I can look into. I have caught fraudulent charges, and other problems this way and saved myself time and trouble as well as in the end always knowing how much spending money I have.

There are alot of people doing this as well. This is the equivalent of a checkbook and statement that many did back in the day. Where you wrote down your checks in the book, and then balanced your book off your statement. Not sure why you don't see the need for this, ask a financial expert and they will suggest you should keep a checkbook and balance it regularly. I just don't want to do it on paper.

Eryl, I understand your need to do that. The following apps seems like they may be able to meet that need - Cash2QIF, cashew, easymoney, EiCash Classic, MoneyManager, Personal Budget Droid, and Hello Expense. I just looked for ones with finance management and .csv/.qif export functions.

I however don't have the time to do all the manual syncs, nor do I want to. I can verify what I've spent and spot bogus charges through mint with ease as well, so we are both reaching the same destination, just taking different paths, no issues there.

I suggested mint to the original poster, as he had mentioned seeing buxoid, which is the app for buxfer.com, which is almost identical to mint. It being identical, I assumed he wanted something similar to what I use with mint, hence my suggestion.

But to stay on track, there are many apps for financial management, they may not be perfect, but I'm sure everyone can find what they need.

And I'm hearing alot about Personal Assistant, but I didn't see that it featured import/export.

Thanks, Cashew and Easymoney MIGHT add the features I need. Already in on those threads. The others I hadn't heard of but best case those were 1 way, and I am looking for bidirectional true sync. Don't worry about it.

I think you are seeing alot of us venting frustration over how we are stuck with only 1 tool on 1 platform and that we are being force to accept all our information stored out in the cloud. I have feelers out looking for options on both Android and iphone both. So far Easymoney seems to want to add that functionality. And if he does he will get ALOT of people buying his app.

You are right that I wanted something similar. I need to be able to keep an eye on all my accounts on the fly. It's a pain trying to log into the banks with the individual bank software. Also, I definitely do not want to manually import the data. Buxoid is working for me right now, but I like to have choices. I look forward to someday trying 'Mint'.

i need a program that i can synce to my desktop quicken 200p premier. or at least a program that will import properly a qif export from quicken which would have all my accts in it.

i have easy money and it needs csv files, i have gba money and it imports the quicken qif but screws up the numbers, and i have an money which only imports the simple qif files with one acct at a time.

someone needs to work with the quicken files and make a app that can handles quickens files either directly or through conversion without have to send one acct at a time.

Yeah, so far EasyMoney works best for me. You can try to download their trial version and see if it works for you. EasyMoney Personal Finance Manager for Android?

EasyMoney is great, but Financisto is even better. I highly recommend either, but I like the way Financisto handles budgets better (multiple categories for one budget).

Edit: I have to retract this statement. I am back to using easy money and loving it again. They added parent categories since I used it last and that makes budgeting much easier. The interface has improved as well which makes it number one again for me!
