Help My Droid X arrived! (A few questions)

:) We ordered it last week and it arrived today! :p It said it wouldn't ship until after the 20th, but it shipped on the 10th, so I'm happy! :D

Anyway, I have a few questions. I have my droid x out, put the battery in, and plugged it in the outlet. The battery symbol popped up on the screen and it said it's charged 70%... Then after like 5-10 seconds, the display turns off. So, I have two questions about that.

1) Is it charging right now?
2) When will I know when it's charged 100%?
3) When it is charged at 100%, do I let the battery drain all the way, before using the phone?
4) Why was it charged at 70% when the phone arrived? It's supposed to be a brand new phone... I ordered it directly from Verizon. Do all new droid X's come charged already?

lol that was more than two questions! haha

Thanks for any help.

1) Yes, it's charging. If you press the little "wake" button on the top, you'll see the display briefly turn on and show you the charging level.

2) Hit the wake button and see what level it's at

3) No

4) All of the lithium batteries come at different charge levels from the factory. No, they won't come completely charged - Lion batteries aren't as stable with a full charge, they're most stable at around half-charged.

All x's come shipped at the 70% I believe (ive heard no different atleast)
yes its charging, you can hit the home button I believe and it shows the battery symbol again. might have to press the power button for a sec I cant remember which.
I charged mine full and used it until the battery ran all the way down till it shut itself off the first time, but you wont be able to turn it back on after until the battery gets back above 15% I believe.

I got a phone on release day so it was already on, charged at about 80% - I do though run it a couple days of hard use, all the way down, full charge - repeat (as I do everything that is rechargeable).

When the screen turns off it is still charging, as long as there is power to the phone. There is a way in settings to "always stay awake while charging", but if you sleep next to your phone this could get annoying and may take a little longer to charge.

AC vs. USB charging is MUCH faster, I've had mine finish a complete charge in about 90 min. So thats a good meter, you can though press the home or power button to see the charge progress, this "wakes" the phone up.

With the new update coming soon you will have a nice battery manager in settings, very nice - you can customize your day so only so many things run in the background, say at night when you would be sleeping.

Welcome aboard! I'm a former BB user, you will love Android!

EDIT: Good lord, guess I type slow...
