Just switched from bbv.4 to this ROM. Everything seems to be working fine with one exception...wifi.

Whenever I reboot or shut down/turn on the phone, it doesn't connect to my wifi. In fact, immediately after a reboot, my PC can't connect to my wifi network. It's like the phone is causing some sort of disturbance with my wifi network.

The solution I've found is to simply unplug the power cord from the router and plug it back in. Once I do this, the phone and my PC connects with my network.

Any ideas on what the problem is and a fix???

From the recovery menu go into the partitions menu and wipe data, cache, system and boot, careful not to wipe your SD card as it's on the same menu.

Awesome. I wiped multiple times even though that doesn't make sense and installed it twice to be sure. Maybe this time all the features will work.

Edit: Lockscreen music controls work! Success!

I found a weird bug with the modified Phone app. If I dial *228 to program, the numbers disappear off the screen and I have to use the hardware keyboard to enter digits. Aside from this bug I don't even really like the looks of the modified phone app compared to stock either, so I'd rather revert to the stock phone app.

No big deal, in the UD Settings menu under Modified Apps I'm given the option to install the stock Phone app... except it doesn't work. When I tap to install the stock Phone app I get an error message: "The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."

WTF! Anybody else have the same issue or if you tap to install the stock Phone app does it install it successfully?

I wiped /data and /cache from the recovery screen. What else can I wipe? Lockscreen music controls still don't work.

Edit: Lots of screen draws too. Any tips for LP settings?

For LP settings, hit Menu > Preferences > General Settings and check "Keep in Memory". Then back to Preferences > Advanced Settings > Memory Usage Settings and check Use Homescreen Caches, Build Caches as Needed, and Prevent Force-Closes. Seems to work for me.

I've been running UD 8 for over a week now and I all I can say is superb. This is the 4th rom I've run on my droid and by far the best. Previously I had been running LFY 1.4-1.6. I decided after heat issues with LFY 1.6 (even with the stock rom I was hitting an average of 49C which is a little more than I am comfortable with).

After reading reviews from YankeeDudeL and inssane (thank you both for excellent reviews) I took the plunge and gave UD 8 a whirl and have not been disappointed. I see absolutely no lag or redraws and my droid is running smooth as butter.

I loaded the P3 Sapphire 1.2LV and even with an hour of heavy use (Need for Speed Shift I'm not much for games on my phone but I am hooked on it) I haven't gone above 35C.

Battery life has been pretty good to me as well. I can't say that I get great battery life as I take my phone off the charger around 7am and have to give a little boost charge (I drop down to the 15% mark so I plug it in for 30 minutes or so) around 7pm until I go to bed generally around 12 or 1 am. I do use my phone pretty heavily though. I send 15 to 20 emails a day, 100 to 150 texts, browse the net for at least an hour a day, have anywhere from 4 to 6 phone calls averaging 10 to 30 minutes.

I don't do a lot of customizations but I do enjoy the fact that I have the option to make them if I like. Also (and this is a BIG plus for me) I haven't had a single FC. Maybe since I am new to roms FC are somewhat common I would experience 1 to 2 a week with the LFY rom but no FC is been awfully nice.

I will say that UD 8 has made me a believer. LFY was nice to me especially 1.4 and 1.5 but 1.6 just wasn't doing it for me. I hope that everyone has the same experience as I am with this rom and hey if you don't give LFY or any of the many other roms a try. Just my 2 cents on UD 8. Thanks for reading! :)

My Pandora is not "themed" as shown with this rom, any fixes?

I installed the Pandora specifically in the UD Settings - this themed my pandora.
Then I updated Pandora, got rid of the theme. I repeated step one, and it's still not themed after the update. :(

FB and Twitter are themed AFTER you install them from UD Settings.
Only itch is that I can't update Twitter anymore - doesn't install. But it's themed right? :)

Thanks for the BT fix file, gonna try it now.

This ROM is smooth, but rememer to use TiBu to clean the Dalvik cache. It really helps - last file cleared was 997kb. Trust me it helps.

I still have some nagging DL/Install lag/stuck issues on the Market. Not sure what else to say other than it's a problem at times. Anyone else?

+1 for this.
I thought it was my DropTheme :)

I also noticed in the facebook app, when I use to be able to hit the menu button and bring up my profile, friends, etc., it is no longer an option??? Now when I hit the menu button the only option is refresh? just me or am I missing something?

!!! UPDATE ..figured it out, now you click on "facebook" and it takes you to the same menu

!!! PANDORA - also just figured this out. Go into phone setting > applications > manage applications > all tab > pandora and click uninstall updates. It asks you to verify and says you can still use the system installed version. I think somehow in the auto app recover, the themed version and your old version interfere. Did this and am now themed.

I've been reading on several forums that this is an issue with Google. I know I have experienced it on both UD and LFY. My buddy running a stock 2.2 (I keep trying to convert him to the darkside) has the issues as well.

Still no responses on this. Please, anyone experiencing the same issue? Any ideas or a fix?

I tried to recreate the issue with no luck. I have no issues with the modded phone app. I'll keep trying throughout the day to see if I can recreate the issue. As to a fix I don't really have any ideas, sorry.

**Update** I did try and install the stock phone app and received the same error message. And now don't get a keypad on my screen either, so I was able to recreate the error. I'll see if I can fix it now.

I'm guessing you and gwlaw99 are among just a small group that's experiencing this issue. If you like this ROM, rewipe everything and reflash.

I did, still didn't work. I think it's because Phone.apk is ALWAYS in use so you can't update it with the phone on.

Someone on the Ultimate Droid forums told me what will work is creating an update.zip file that installs the stock Phone.apk. Now I just need to track down the stock Phone.apk!

I already reflashed the ROM today so I don't feel like reverting back to stock to grab the stock apk. If anyone can grab it and email it to me, send me a PM and I will try to create this update.zip to fix the issue. It will definitely be a learning process for me but I think I can do it.

This happened to me on UD 7 while experimenting with different kernels that were pushing the limits of my Droid. Try wiping and reinstalling the kernel you're using.
I can't recall what I did that made it stop because I was trying everything out of desperation.
Currently I run UD 7 with Chevy's ULV 1 GHz kernel. I have not had that problem since. I can tell you that even with the 1.25 GHz P3D kernel geared back to 1 GHz with SetCPU, it still did it, so it doesn't appear to be speed related.
I dunno. Maybe somewhere to start, though.
