BOGO Confirmed :D

When did you get your Droid? Are they just giving away free Eris' or did you pick them up together?
I saw the free Eris w/purchase of a Droid (or w/another Eris) and wondered if it would be honored as I'm still (just barely) in the 30 day price/warranty window. It would be cool to be able to pick up an Eris for nada!! Not sure how it works though...?

Working for VZW i can tell you, You must have two lines eligible for Upgrade OR signing up new lines of service. Either way $350 early term fee is you cancel one. Yes thay must both be purchased at the same time, NO you cannot share between accounts (you and your friend) all eligible lines must be on the same account.

Verizon does not and HAS NEVER had a 30 day price guarantee. If you wish to return your equipment you may $35 restocking fee. And then rebuy, but not for the same phone... otherwise people would just keep returning every 30 days and make sure they got the lowest price. The vzw 30day satisfaction guarantee is meaningless and includes nothing about price matching.

They aren't talking about returning anything. They are talking about going and getting an additional phone. If you bought the droid (or Eris) within the last 30 days, you can go and get a free Eris, add another line, pay an additional $30/mo for the data and have a phone for a family member if they are in need.

Bought my Droid and wife's Eris at the same time. How does this work for me?

Refund on the cost of the Eris?

I think you and I are out of luck. I bought mine on the sixth and we went back two days later and transferred her line from T-Mobile and got the Eris. Verizon could save a lot of hard feelings by waiting 6 weeks or more before discounts or offers.

Oh well, we still love the phones, but I would have gotten a second battery with the difference.

I can still return hers, pay the restocking fee and get another if they play that game. I am well within thirty days of purchase, and I am a new customer with two lines.

Can get a free Eris for each line I have activated? My Mom and Sister wold love these for X-Mas.

And that you can do because I just did it today, my little one has an Iphone, but when she saw my Droid all of a sudden she didn't like the Iphone anymore, so she will be getting the Droid Eris for Christmas (shhh, don't tell her). And this is only for this weekend so all those that got it on the 6th you qualify, as long as you are willing to add a line or upgrade to a family plan. Oh, and the $35 restocking fee is only if one want to Exchange, but there is no restocking fee if you cancel within the first 30 days.

My brother, who has been using a razr since it came to the market was well overdue for a new phone. We went to the store to day and I decided I was going to try to sell him on one of the android phones. But as soon as we saw the free phone sign he was sold. I got the droid on it launch date and they still honored the deal. For those of you wondering about details, you do pay for $100 for it but then have to do a MIR. Also, this works if you purchases either the moto droid or the eris, No moto droid for moto droid though. You do need the second line to be up for a new every two however. Still a great deal though!

edit: just got an email with the info on it

Good idea, mangano!

I just called Vzw customer service (at 11pm mountain on Friday) and spoke with Erin. He told me that because I purchased my droid on Nov 6, I would be eligible to return my droid ($35 restock fee), buy a new droid, and get an HTC droid eris for free after MIR. We have two phones at my house already. Wifey is a crackberry user that drools over my droid. <tee hee> Droid drooler.

He also said this deal ends on Monday (dec 7).

We did not talk about whether the $100 droid MIR is still active.

I'm certainly thinkin' about it...

I would call and speak with another CR because you should not have to return your Droid at all (No restock fee) and as for the MIR. I purchased mine online from Verizon on the 18th, yesterday I called after seeing the news about all of this in the Rooms, once I was switched over to Sales, because of the less than 30 days they honored the BOGO, and he began to mention paying $100, I explained to him that there is nothing on your website that states I would have to pay anything today. It clearly stated that "Buy on Droid, get a Droid Eris Free" he went to the website, came back and honored exactly what it said; got my invoice via email and the Droid Eris well be here Monday at no Charge to me.

So I would speak with another customer rep.
