Root Droid X - I need some help!

I just got a Droid X and i have alot of questions about it. Hopefully some one out there can help me. I'll add more questions after one gets answered lol. I dont want to be rude i just need some help with this. I came from using an LG Voyager for 3 years to the Droid and this is totally new to me so any information is greatly appreciated. Thank You!

#1 What are the benifits of Rooting my Droid X? I heard that you can improve performance on the phone along with run emulaters and things of that nature.

Lots of benefits you'll soon learn. But for myself, I rooted and removed bloatware (using TiBackUp), added autokiller for root users. Insanely smooth and better battery life right off the bat. That was the starting point for me and I was hooked on root.

Wouldn't emulators be better suited for the Droid-2 since it has physical keyboard?

You can do so much with root, you can overclock, load themes, roms, screenshots, free wifi tether, etc. I didn't want to root at first, but I took the dive using universal androot so I didn't screw up anything. I read the forums here from the first relevant post to the last. I bricked my phone multiple times and with the help of the people here and RSDlite and the .sbf file I restored my phone. Seriously, just read a lot and trust that you can always restore your phone to factory with the .sbf file. Don't freak out when you screw something up. Great thing about this forum is that most people won't flame you if you ask something you think is relevant but stupid to them. Learn from D13 (formerly Droider13)... he is my Obi Wan and I am his apprentice. If you ever need any help I'm just a msg away. I check the forums about 10 times a day.

P.S. Go to Home and get "The Bomb".... password is "phoxusgift" to unzip it. Rename it to a .zip before you try to open it, it will download as a .exe file for some reason... its all the files you will ever need in case you brick your phone or if you want to root it or upgrade to 2.2 without the OTA.

P.S. I'm a little drunk this evening (had a wicked day at work and probably had too many beers once I got home)... but I'm hoping my post before made sense and I really am free to any help you might need, or anyone else that needs help with root, applying themes, upgrading, applying root, etc. I'm still gonna give serious props to D13 and Fab... they taught me everything I know (which at this point is a lot considering where I came from)
