Help music player WORSE after update

I guess I should have named this post "FROYO UPDATE 2.2345 MY BATTERY LASTS 7,000 DAYS LONGER THAN YOURS1!!!1!!1!!!" in order for anyone to pay attention. Oh well, maybe ill e mail HTC.

I feel that. I had a similar question about the music player, and also the part about navigation causing the music to cut out. Searching got nothing specific per se, though a common answer is that froyo fuct it up. Disappointing because while it lacked in a lot of ways, I used the native music app for most of my listening.

Now, I did see suggestions about different music apps that *might* fix the problem. My feeling Is though that if you go down that route, you end up withmultiple audio/music apps for different situations. E.g., one for streaming via bt in the car, one for podcasts, one for shuffle...

I've had froyo for a week or two now, but havent really had time to really dig in to identify new improvements... but in just using It I'm really just finding more and more problems. I'm starting to entertain the theory that some things were fudged to get us to seek out paid apps to correct them. Don't know who would be in a position to make.this happen and gain financially, but it's almost too much to not be intentional.

Yeah I know what you mean about getting multiple apps. I noticed that I have the same problem with Google voice (when i come back to a podcast, lets say its 45 in and I stop it, when I come back and hit play it just restarts from the beginning instead of continuing) I don't know if thats a coincidence, but something tells me its on the back end and not the individual music / podcast players. I don't use ATK or anything else like that so I know its not an app stopping them in the background.

What a bummer that every time I listen to a podcast I have to keep searching to find the point I was previously at.

Thanks for the help guys!

PS. Also, it might just be me but I feel like this board used to be a lot more useful. Now its just pissing contests about who's battery lasts longer.

I hear you guys. I went through a bunch of music apps, but settled on the default Music app because it was the only one that saw the internal memory. My SD card is the small 2 gb and haven't upgraded it yet, and I needed the extra space.

Now I don't know what to do. I've actually started using my old iPod Nano again in the car. It solves both of my problems for now - bookmarks podcast times and doesn't stop when the GPS speaks.

It seems that everyone has the same problem with the new update. I tried to search hoping there would be a fix, but I got no luck.

So basically what I did was to downgrade:eek: my cell and now the GPS and music player get along just fine.:D Now I know by downgrading I lost my 720p, led flashlight and ability to record video with flash on, etc, etc.:( I don't mind losing these features to get my GPS and music to work again. I'm a heavy GPS and music player user (pandora) when I get in my car and I hate:mad: to keep going back and forward to resume my music. I also rather be safe than sorry and not worry about getting in to an accident by going through the pain of restarting my music. Oh yeah, I drive a standard car so that makes it more of a pain in the a$$.

So for the mean time I can live with my incredible the way it is until an update fixes the problem.

My dilemma is the HTC music player and the FM tuner.

Example: I use(well try) them at the gym but since the update they are worthless. The tuner scans constantly and when it's not scanning it wants to voice dial with the menu popping up on the screen.

The music player now skips through songs. Very frustrating. They both worked before the 2.2 update.

One thing I found interesting is I tried using them again after the gym but this time I launched the players first, then plugged in the headphones and all worked fine. Before I would plug in the headphones then launch the player, that is when all went to shit. I'm going to continue and try plugging in the headphones after launching either player to see if that could be the problem.
