i just wanted to share my excitement...

i just finished rooting my D1. i flashed the LFY1.4, with the Galaxsy theme, and the ChevyNo1 1.1ghz kernel...

DUDE THIS PHONE IS NOW SO MUCH BETTER!!!!!

*yes i was yelling!!*

anyway...thanks to all the devs...you guys have done a wonderful job with all the ROMs, themes, and kernels. the instructions are also great...i'm a HUGH newbee...so if i was able to do it...without bricking my D1...then anyone can do...

thanks guys!!

i know...

the only reason i wanted to get rooted was because i read somewhere on here that we could overclock our phones...upto 1ghz...and i was like...I WANT THAT!!

i was tried of my phone running so slow...

and now it runs like a charm...and i have the benfits of ROMs, themes, kernels...

so thanks again to everyone!!

It's so cool to see peeps rooting their Droids and improving and fixing almost all their problems. Unleashing the Droid's true hidden powers.

If I never rooted or learned the things i learned from this site, I would be slobbering over the newest droids thinking they are so much better and that the og droid is trash.

I would also like to extend a THANK YOU, to the whole Android Forums!:D

^ true!!

so here is a question i had as soon as i finished rooting, ROM'ing, and OC'ing...

why do they release a such a powerful phone and limit its true power? isnt that short changing us?

just curious...

I wouldn't say short changing us. You also have to be careful when OC'ing. You can easily overheat and kill your phone if you OC too much. Sometimes it's better to keep it at a stable speed, even if it's slower.

I think it's not that much different that doing a few mods on your car (like new exhaust, intake, etc.) to get it run better and faster.

Moved the thread to the "All Things Root" forum. I know these thread serve as "liquid courage" for a lot of non-rooted people...but if they are interested, they will come here to discuss ;)

^thanks for the move!!

^so talking about overheating...@ what temp does it start to mess up a phone? (i.e. D1)
