I ve been searching online like crazy prior to picking up the mytouch and came to the conclusion that out of all the tmobile available phones the mytouch had the best chance of receiving the update..I went and sent a tweet to mytouch3g and received the following tweet in return

This is definitely not a yes and definitely not a No the Response you got was basically to keep an eye out on their forums for any updated info.

I beleive the MT3G / HTC Magic will get the Update as it does support it hardware wise. It's all just a matter of time really.... But if your impatient or Google say we will not be getting the update , their is the Dev community with a Number of ROM's too

the htc magic as already gotten the update android 2.0 do a check up at a HTC website the update is already there for the htc magic. I hope it comes out for the mytouch soon.

Some of us LUCKY G1 owners are already getting parts of 2.0 a little at a time. I also know of at least 2 Touch3Gs with the same parts of 2.0.

I will caution that all of the devices that I am talking about are rooted and are getting the bits from Cyanogen.

A friend of mine felt the same way. I helped him through it via text and phone calls. When done he wanted to know what he was worried about.

I wont say you cant brick your phone but its not likely if you follow the instructions.

Read, read, read, and read some more. The more you read it the easier it will be. Make sure you download all the files and double check that you have them all before you do anything to your phone. I would even do a dry run or 2 just so you have the stepps down right.

It really isnt hard to do, you just have to not miss any steps. Read it a few more times to make sure you got it.

Not yet but he is working on it.

As an example, we could get Google Nav over a week before it was released to everyone. I have multi touch (pinch zoom).

From past experience of his updates, I would think before mid Jan. that we would have full 2.0 running and stable.

yea seems like they only mention the droid, but the mention seems like its a general comment also... all we can do is wait, hope, and pray

I dont think hes too obsessed with it, I'm with him I hope they have the update for the G1 and the MT3G, I'm going to be very upset if they dont produce a 2.0 update for either of these, considering the G1 is only a little over a year old and would basically be obsolete as far updates go. We all know that people want the latest and greatest when it comes to technology. Sorry my post is all over the place, i'm a little ADD
