tomorrow is the last day for the first people to have the phone to get to return it with no questions asked.... the 'update' is still 5 days out.

I was there at the butt crack of dawn launch day. Even in the final hours i'm undecided.

where are the rest of you?

edit: i'm already on my second one!

i have my first, it has no real issues.

i had no 'real' issues either.... then yesterday my phone kept freezing with greater frequency till it just stopped.... factory reset failed in vzw store and the rep shrugged..... i got another phone but i hope it doesn't happen again. they told me my 30 is still up on the 6th even though i had a replacement on the 4th.

Assuming launch day is day one, I got mine on day two, and will also be past my 30 days before the update comes. That said, I have had no real problems with mine, other than the battery door falling off. Each time this happens I make another minor adjustment, and it takes longer before it falls off again, but it still happens. But I came from Sprint after being booted for excessive roaming, so I really have nothing to go back to. Since I've had a Blackberry before and still prefer the Driod, and wouldn't touch a WinMo device, I'm with the Droid for the long haul.

What sort of adjustments are you making to keep the battery door from falling off?

well, looks like i'm here to stay... my time has expired and verizon owns me for another 2 years :D

overall i'm very happy with the phone. i knew before i bought the thing that i would be guinea pig for a newer product. So far everything i have had troubles with is software related really. so it can only get better with a good hardware base and an active community.

Went today and took back my Droid that I got on opening day. Have had some lockup issues with phone calls and email, among other things. This one so far is running great, and looking forward to the update.

Even though I got my phone on release date, Verizon still honored the Droid Eris deal. My wife wanted to get a new phone, so after 29 days after buying the droid.. I still got the Eris for free for my wife. Love Verizon for that. Hope the new OS update will fix some issues with the Moto droid, and update the Eris to the new OS.

I have had mine since the second day and I bought the hard snap on case. I think it was around 16.00 and might save you this battery case headache.

It will be interesting to see how aggressive Google is with OS updates, adding things like sense ui type improvements. Considering what they have done in the past year we have the potential to see a lot of improvement. These guys do not mess around. Not like Microsoft, they have been working on WinMo7 for about two years now and still have at least a year to go (just don't get it)!
