I have a Fascinate that automatically populated my Gallery with the zillions of photo albums I've uploaded to Picasa.

My boyfriend has a Droid X and I put my Picasa email/password in his Accounts thinking it'd just effortlessly autopopulate his gallery with my pictures too, but it didn't. I looked around on the internet and saw that you could download the older Gallery (the one that's like the one on my Fascinate), so I did, but again, there's no setting that I see to show my Picasa albums on there, there's no auto-populating, nothing.

Any ideas how I can make this happen without having to go into a separate application or on the web to see these?

I looked it up on another site and it said settings can be found at "settings > accounts & sync" but the Droid only has Accounts listed, no Sync.

Nice try there but no joy in mudville :-(

Just put this weblink in your mobile browser and download the Gallery3DFroyo.apk

10x9.com/xh

Once it's finished downloading, go to notifications and click on the downloaded file link and install. You MUST allow unknown sources before you can install. (Settings / Applications / unknown sources checked)

I believe it's in the app store too now at 3D Gallery, but I'm not sure if it's the exact same app. I am using the one I mentioned 1st. But if you feel safer downloading from the app store, by all means try that one 1st. It looks like it's the same app I am using.

The 3D gallery works for me for displaying my picasa albums.

Does anyone know how to get the native gallery to support picasa?

It doesn't. Unfortunately.

I just found a great app in the market called JustPictures!
It's a gallery program that allows you to link to these accounts:
Local
Picasa
Smugmug
Flickr
Facebook
Photobucket

It's pretty fast for an "online" app. Check it out!

I want to do the opposite. My phone was populated with photos from Picassa that I don't want in my phone, but it won't let me delete the photos from Picassa. I can select them, get a green check but the word delete is gone from the bottom. Do you know how to delete photos that came from Picassa? And, is there a way to change the look of the fascinate gallery? I don't like the pix clumped on top of each other. Can't find anything to do with gallery settings. Wonder if this is yet another quirk of this phone..

You have to go into your settings and remove your Picasa account information from the Accounts area. If that doesn't work then you maybe can take your Google account off, then re-enter making sure not to import Picasa when you can choose to import contacts and such. My phone works that way but I know the X had a specific place to enter Picasa info.

Still haven't figured out my original issue posted above.

The Gallery 3d app that you can download in the market or from the link above absolutely links to your Picasa account...as linked to from the user's gmail account. It just takes a while to download the info so you may want to let it do its thing while you are on Wifi. However, if you are looking to download YOUR Picasa account to HIS Droid X linked to HIS gmail account, I'm not sure it can be done without adding YOUR gmail/picasa account to his phone. But, the gallery app definitely works with Picasa (I have a droid x and use it with great success to see my picasa web albums).

Or, am I missing the forest for the trees vis a vis your question?
