Help No 16m colour on 2.1 update.....sony strikes again!!

another f**k up by sony (suprise suprise)!!!

Next they will delay the update (which i have said along it prob wont b until 2011...but time will tell) They have under 2 weeks to keep there word!

i am suprised they are still going these days the the amount of disappointments they keep doing and get away with it...customer support does not seem to worry them as they dont have any!!!

In my eyes the x10 has been a disappointment from day 1, running old firmware, fabricating on the truth before releasing and kept on puttting the release date because they wanted to release a product that was free from bugs back (never managed that one???) etc etc lol

They should just open up the boot loader and let the dev's work there magic...least they will do it properly and quicker!

I for one can not wait to get rid of the x10...had enough of it now

Iphone 4 or the new nokia N8 are catching my eye at the minute

I somewhat agree.....I love my X10 and all I wanted was 16m colors and 720p video recording. If they can't confirm 16m colors for the second half of the update ill probably ditch the phone for the desire hd. I can't believe they aren't giving us 16m colors with our 2.1 update right from the start...FAIL SE!!!!!!!!

I've seen and compared many screens, iphone4 or sgs and I can't tell that one screen has 16m and the other has 65k. I mean sgs looks amazing because of amoled but that's abother story. Ppl need to stop whining about it and if ur gonna ditch x10 because of this you r just a spec w-hore and stop posting hate posts and get on wit ur life for everyone's sake!

Don't ditch your phone people. Donate to the developers who are trying to crack the bootloader instead, because once they manage to do it, and when we'll get a good ROM, we'll have one pretty good phone!

Did you forget to mention your half blind? Lol I can easily tell the difference by the widgets I use....16m colors does make a noticeable difference.....google it.

Very well said man!!! Don't get me wrong people...I love my X10 more than anything out there right now....but I think its time SE gave us a nice update to 2.1 with all the perks off the bat. Wanna hear something ridiculous? My gf just update her htc magic to 2.1 today.....i mean htc magic got 2.1 and were still waiting.......pretty sad.

A lot of us bought the phone for the "HARDWARE" and jumped on the SE Magic Bus BANDWAGON! We all hoped and gave SE the benefit of the doubt. They said one thing and did another, time and time again! If you had employees that lied as much as they do to their customers, they would have been fired by now. But no, here we sit with this great piece of hardware, which is quickly becoming a really great Brick! The kicker, how many of us tried other phones during our 30 try it to like it period, only to grab the X10 because of the hardware and the SE promised future. I mean, people we were doging out Samsung, but I think they will end up laughing at us in the long run. Sad, a very sad situation!

I have sold my x10, got myself a htc wildfire to tide me over for now. gonna get a desire hd or a samsung p1000 tablet.

I do like this little wildfire, 2.1 custom fw, multi touch, good battery life. when i get myself anothe high end device i might even keep it. And its getting 2.2 soon

I think I will be going HTC for my next phone, was considering the iphone, its just the space factor that does it for me I love the fact on the android phones you can expand your memory.

One question regarding the SE X10 screen, there is alot of space between apps on my home screen is there a reason for so much space, e.g I have a 2 lines of apps on my home screen but there is alot of space between them.

The stock SE launcher is set up this way. You could always go for something like ADW launcher which gives you the ability to set the number of columns and rows per screen so you can fit more in. (If you decide to give it a try also get Home Launcer app free from market cos it lets you switch between SE stock and ADW until you are happy with which one you want to set as default)

I too ended up selling my X10 and getting a Galaxy S i9000. Not that I dislike the phone. I still think it's great. But I did get tired of the feeling that I was being screwed over.

The X10 to me is the "if only" phone. "If only" they'd give us multitouch, "if only" they'd give us Froyo, "if only" they'd enable 16M colors. "If only" the default apps weren't performance hogs. Too many "if only"s for my taste. I feel like the X10 is that great looking dessert that makes your mouth water, and then when you taste it it's much blander than it looks.

Sorry for letting the steam off, but I think the feeling is shared by many people. Anyway, good luck to you all and I still hope that SE delivers a better software solution for the X10. I'll be cheering for you!

Having had the AT&T equivalent of the Galaxy S (Captivate), I feel very confident in my decision to switch to the X10. The non-working GPS, on all Galaxy S devices, is a big "if-only" and there are always "if-only" attributes of every phone I have owned. The X10 does everything I need and want (even with 1.6) and it will only get better with 2.1 and custom roms. None of the "if-only" issues I have ready about have in any way affected my use or opinion of the X10.

That is why we have choices. Find the choice that matches your needs and stop worrying if the guy next to you has something better. Better is subjective and the grass is always greener on the other side.

I totally understand where you are coming from. The part that really hinders us folks using AT&T, there just isn't a phone that takes your breath away. The X10 is very close, until you start to look at all of the things we were suppose to get and have not and maybe will never have, which is a darn shame. I had the Captivate prior to the X10, as many here have and it had the android software and a nice screen, but everything else failed next to the X10 IMO. I wish AT&T had the Galaxy S i9000. I checked it out after reading your post and it looks like a winner, but that is not an option as it is not in the States. So we make do with what we have. I'm on a two year contract with the X10. I have finally, as of today, got it working perfectly for me. The lag is gone as is a lot of the apps that were giving me info about the system and its various aspects and speeds/readings. I had read they all eat up CPU time, which I should have caught on my own, but alas, I didn't. I have now however and have totally reformatted the phone (Getting pretty good at it actually, lol) and only downloaded what I wanted. So there is no fluff, only what I want. I was really tempted to use the X10's standard home screen, but I couldn't resize things as I could with ADW, so I am using ADW, which I don't mind. I actually bought Launcher Pro when I was on the Captivate, but alas they do not have any programs running on 1.6, go figure. So when (Hello Sony) we eventually get 2.1, I will swap out ADW and bring in Launcher Pro.

So please excuse my dribble, I just started typing and just realized I took the long way around the moutain, lol.... All of that to say, I've got an X10 and I'm happy with it. I will be VERY happy when 2.1 comes out. How does that sound, ok, good, LOL

Im ditching sony after this phone... They done the same with the ps3 telling people before it was released that it was backward compatible and it was for the first freakin models THEN they didnt tell anyone that the later versions couldn't do it...I found out when i got back home!!! They lied about multi-touch and blamed it on misunderstanding and complication in advertising... They are crooks, plain and simple.

I'm leaving these douchebags, get a 360, Nexus 1 or HTC and buy an apple laptop... Screw you sony

ok little girls stop crying throw the x10 or sell it, 1.6 os is superb, i can say that im wise using phones, and with the x10 i can do everything i need or want it is my laptop now. os its just numbers or the fight give shame to you cause you dont have the2.2 os? grow up. multi t. isnt that usefull as seems, im sick with all this complainings. x10 kick ass

i just wrote a nice long reply to that but then thought theres no point as your happy with it.

Just read every forum...you will find there are alot more people not happy with the phone than are happy with it...have you asked yourself why??

An os is not just "numbers" The android platform is very good - except sony are using old FW which makes the phone rubbish.

What do you like about the phone that makes it better than others on the market?
