Root Eris OC

Mods feel free to move it if necessary.

I just rooted my phone and put KaosFroyo v35 on it, and a custom kernel(2.6.29 DecaFuct)

I want to know how high I can go on an overclock with this bad boy, let me know please. Id like to get it as high as possible being stable.

Please, educated and responsible answers only, I don't want things like "move the sliders and see if its stable yourself" or anything like that, I want to know what YOU here at androidforums have accomplished with an overclock on your Eris.

**UPDATE** Second post, this should be helpful.
"right now my max is at 768, and minimum is at 729. running perfectly fine, at about 30-35C. thats my standard on performace, and i dont use this for daily use i use it to test things. my sleep is on max 245 and min on 122. works perfect and if i turn off performance and set to on demand doing tests and changing things all day i get about 13hours of heavy use using wifi."
Thanks for your time.

Just thought I'd direct you there.

Most people on KF seem to think 710-729 is a safe max. The big debate is what to set your min at.

Personally, I've got min at 245 and max at 710. seems to get pretty decent battery life out of that

you cant say you want to go as high as possible and then reject the notion of testing for yourself........ every phone is different

there are different opinions about what the effective max is on the Eris anyhow.....

many will say they see absolutely no difference in performance above 710..... many others say they see a difference at higher levels

I agree with the previous posters suggestion that the more important thing is your minimum and profiles.... as this is key to battery life

there are users who actually cant get past 710 and be stable...... there are others who can get well over 800........ I personally ran stable @ 806........ but I didnt see any speed difference between 806 and 768....... I did however notice a speed difference between 710 and 768... so I typically left mine maxed @ 768....... but there are certain ROMs that seemed to work better for me @ 806......

in the end youre going to have to accept the fact that theres no 'right' answer........ and you are going to have to adjust the sliders and see for yourself what your phone can handle

my daily running setup was:

768/480

profiles all set @ 480/245 were:

temp > 42
charging
screen off
battery < 30%

My phone's been stable for hours now - I've been happy. It works brilliantly.

But v35? Are you sure? Mine's on v34, but now I'm getting uncomfortable.

i believe it is. not sure. but this is great, i tryed upping the max to 806 and it started to get unresponsive, i was tapping the screen trying to bring the slider down if it was still back to life and tapped the set on boot button, so now my phone gets stuck at the android on a skateboard thing. any way to underclock the cpu without setcpu?

I think you may have to boot into recovery and reflash the rom. Someone else could chime in with another option.

I'll try that. I can boot into recorvery just doesn't get passed the first boot screen when I normal boot.

*report: Reflashed, just got it so i could open the phone again and i quickly got to setcpu to change the settings and click set on boot quickly. thanks man.

You got any overclocking stories to tell?
