I just got mine yesterday, charged it up by 4 pm, at 9 pm turned on BT and GPS and turned the screen brightness up, then talked to my wife for an hour. This morning it's at 80% battery.
I have the same case/holster, (only because Seidio wasn't selling X cases yet), and it works fine. It's a little tighter, but works great.
Yes it does. HOWEVER, when in there, I noticed any slight pressure on the screen results in a weird splotch on the screen, apparently caused by the battery pressing on the innards which press on the back of the screen. May cause no damage whatsoever but I won't take the chance.

Just wondering if anybody else who has the Droid X has purchased the extended battery for the Droid X and what kind of results they have seen from it. From the specs I don't see where it can be much more productive than the standard battery being that it's only approx 300MaH higher in capacity.
Any feedback or info would be appreciated. Thanks.

I didn't think it could be much more impressive not worth the $50 in my opinion then. I have seen a 3200 MaH in production. Doubt it'll be an approved accessory though as it's from a third party company.

True. But if there's a case that fit's it I could care less. Constantly turning my brighness down, disabling my sync, and gps and battery profile to smart mode, I would be happy to use it for more than 8 hours and then have to plug it in.

Ive noticed a huge difference. but then again i have been fighting battery troubles since the release day. with the stock battery i finally got about 2-3 days of moderate/heavy use. since i got the extended battery and learned how to tweak launcherpro (im still a noob...no rooting for me yet) i can get a good full day in of heavy, heavy use. in the beginning i was lucky to get 5 hours without touching it...huge improvement
Which is exactly what I answered. The battery being 1mm thicker requires a new back cover which therefore sticks out further causing interference with the case resulting in the issue I described.
The shell / holster combo BARELY fits with the extended door - I think if you remove the door all together (the shell will hold the battery in place) Itll fit fine. It also fits well with the std. battery cover, although it IS a tight fit on the cover.

I had the same problem. Even when I took off the battery cover, it still would cause screen issues. Since I didn't notice much improvement in battery life, I think I will return my extended battery and keep the shell/holster combo.
I've only got the black silicone cover for it. So it's a bit more flexible than the shell/holster combo. I'll try it out I've read some good things and return it if it doesn't work. Thanks for the feedback.

Let me know how that works out for you. I am getting the black silicone cover too and want to try to fit the ext life batt in there. I get conflicting stories from Verizon reps on whether it will fit or not.
I got my extended bat yesterday. I can tell you the improvement is noticeable!!! My setup is optimized, nothing with live updates or auto-kill. Just based on using my phone extensively last night for a couple of hours battery dropped about 10%; in my apple-to-apple comparison with a similar use on stock battery - I would have dropped at least 20%-30%. I was also monitoring bat temperature and it didn't go up above 30degC.
Also, I do see above mentioned splotch on the screen when I push really hard on the the screen. Normal operations and even regular press-hold type of tapping doesn't show anything. I'm using a stock cover for now, but might switch to an extended battery cover just to be sure stock cover doesn't put too much pressure on the battery.
