Anyone returning their launch Droid today?

I picked mine up on launch day.. It is my first Android phone.. Last phone was a Palm Centro which I loved.. The Centro has one of the BEST phone apps EVER! But, the Droid is so much more and I am just now beginning to use the various functions that, with the Centro, I didn't have..

Just yesterday, on the Droid, I was listening to music, had the GPS navigation running, and made phone calls..

So cool, while listening to music, the GPS navigator would 'break in' and alert me of an upcoming turn, then the music would continue.. Then a phone call would come in... I would answer, the music would pause... The navigator, would NOT PAUSE during the call, (which is good, because you don't want to miss a turn!!).. Then, getting off the call, the music would return.. AND during all this, if an email came in I would get an alert tone and I could read it if I wanted by pulling down the notification bar and clicking on the message... Pretty amazing if you ask me..

I am keeping it.. for sure..

I love my droid and have to exchange it tomorrow because the screen protector tht I took off tht came ith the phn left a permanent mark on the screen. You can't see it unless u look at it on a certain angle or breathe on the screen.. i tried alcohol and other things to take it off but nothing worked! If it wasn't for tht id keep the original.. everythings backed up so I'm not too worried about restoring the new one :)

It is great to see so many other happy Droid owners. I love mine as well, and I better because it is too late to return it now! I actually posted my iPhone 3GS on eBay and officially canceled my line on AT&T this morning.

There are certainly some areas where the iPhone is better IMO. For example, the apps in general are better on the iPhone (i.e. Facebook and pretty much every game). Also, the on screen keyboard is easier to type on using the iPhone because of the multi-touch. The iPhone UI is also much more polished and smooth.

Despite all of these iPhone "advantages" I just can't let the Droid go. The killer features for me are the amazing display, Gmail integration with push, GTalk integration and multi-tasking. IMO these far outweigh the advantages that the iPhone provides.

I have a feeling that I'll be using the Droid for quite a while unless Steve Jobs comes out with something really awesome in January. Otherwise, I'll be eagerly anticipating the Droid 2!

I am keeping mine. I hate the slider but love what the phone does. A verizon rep told me that there is a $35 restocking fee for returning the droid within the first 30 days.

There is a $35 restocking fee if you exchange your phone for another one.

There is *NO* restocking fee if you simply return your phone.

If you're within the allowed return period, you can return the phone at no cost, reactivate your old phone, wait a few days and get something else.

I was holding out and hooping Verizon would get the iPhone. No more, I really like my Droid so much so I sold my iPod Touch. I really don't have a need since I have the Droid. The iPhone has nothing on the Droid.
I would agree, friend of mine bought the iphone right after I bought my Droid, we are always comparing, who can pull up what quicker, comparing apps, etc and I really don't feel the iphone offers anything better, I actually think the Droid is a better phone. My buddy was kind of forced to go with att due to the amount of in-calling he does on att with majority of his family/friends, too bad for him:D

My friend has the iphone and we both txt in class and I find we are always comparing our phones. We had an "sms off" today. Talking in gif images from google only, I won my phone loaded faster despite having have the 3G speed of atts surprisingly rock solid HSPA Network in this area. The iPhone will forever be the sexiest in everyway but the droid does more.

I absolutely love the phone (thought not quite as much as the Eris), but in a "Full Coverage" area, Verizon can't seem to deliver a signal to me. I'm going to wait it out (just started a 30-day on the 4th) for a bit and see if things get better - but it looks more and more like I'll have to drop it entirely.

Damn.
