I gotta say, after my first time messing with root and choosing my first rom as the Baked Snack 1.7, I couldn't be happier with it. I have an EVO and my wife has an Epic. As soon as she got her epic, I was immediately jealous of how smooth it ran. Well no more, as the Fresh Baked 1.7 improves performance and removes the 30fps limit making this thing run the way I wanted it to from day 1. So far everything on it is working, all the excess sprint stuff is gone, and it actually bugs less than the Official sprint build I was using before.

Keep up the good work devs, and whoever is interested in rooting, I recommend the fresh baked rom for sure. Although my comparison to other roms is non exist, to have the full feel of the phone as it was released with sense but running smooth is fantastic.

The 30FPS cap is imposed by the kernel not the ROM.

I just loaded the Baked ROM yesterday also. So far so good. I do notice the increased snappiness of a lot of the screens. I am also using Zeam launcher over it since I like the more minimalistic feel of it v. Sense UI. One thing I did notice today was that my battery dropped pretty quickly first thing this morning. Not sure if one of the other changes I made is doing this or if its the ROM/kernal combo. I am going to do some testing over the next few days to try and figure it out. I am hoping its not the ROM since I like what I see so far.

If that doesn't suit you, I recommend netarchy kernel 4.1.9.1. You wont see much speed or smoothness difference from Baked kernel. But I've read the battery drain on it is better.

Thanks but Kings#9 seems ok,the phone is running smooth seems faster than when i ran Fresh 3.2 with 4.1.9 and battery life seems ok,although I'm not to concern about it since i have a 3500MAh.

I've been running baked snack 1.7 for a week or so, very happy with it.i use launcher pro just much more flexible than sense especially the ability to customize the dock, all I miss is a 4g toggle widget.i find backed snack is very similar to the rooted 2.2 but certainly boots faster and do not have boot up sound which a small thing but nice

there are free 4g toggle widgets in the app market

I've notice my 4G is not functioning very well right now for some reason under this rom. It kinda stinks not having it available at the places i spend most of my time, I have to drive to a location to even test it. Comes on, find the network, but doesn't connect. I ran some updates today that I can test at lunch, so hopefully I'll know what's up soon.

Just loaded Baked Snack 1.7 Rom and Kernel lastnight . So far out the gate with GPS , 3G , Gmail and Weather Sync active Im looking at a roughly estimated 1.5% to 2% drop of battery life per hour so far . This includes a few texts here and there . Nothing overly demanding . Previously in stock unrooted form if I had the 3G , GPS and syncs active the evo would be draining the battery like there was no tomorrow . Still its early into it but over all I am very pleased with this being my first Rom/Kernel I have ever flashed . Outstanding work !

I installed Baked Snack 1.7 and after I was done lost FM, and sprint navigation. Is there anyway to load these back on? Also my superuser icon went from the ninja to the crossbones which I dont like. Can that also be changed back to the ninja?

Thanks

try looking on your SD card for the missing apps, some devs put have a folder with most of the stuff they remove and after you flash the ROM the folder places itself on the sd card.

About SU,Ninja or x bones it will serve the same purpose,if u r so into ninjas flash the older version.

How has your battery life been with Kings Kernel#9?

8 1/2hours since unplugged,WiFi is been on for almost 8hrs,lots of browsing about 2hrs,I played a couple of games, few txt,FB,email and weather sync all day and I just hit 65%,keep in mind that I have a 3500MAh battery, the phone feels good so I don't pay that much attention to the battery since I have plenty to get trough the day.

I will test it with mine and see. I have an 1800 MAh battery so I will probably get about half of what you are getting.

I just switched from Fresh and I have also tried VaelPak. I like VaelPak but wanted to test all my options first. I do want to finally settle on one because I don't have a bunch of time to keep changing but I want one that works, is stable and is updated.

I was in NY this past week for 4 days and was running Fresh 3.2. I kept having random reboots with Kings #9 as it seems to be the case with a lot of people. I realized that I need something stable because my phone would reboot when I needed it most for calls or directions and I found that I couldn't rely on it.
