But, I'm hoping to change that. :) I'm currently with sprint which means that the obvious choice for me is an Epic (because a hardware keyboard is a must!)

My upgrade is coming up and I think I've given my Pre a fair shake. Time to get something that doesn't have the Apple logo on it. Don't get me wrong, I like Apple. I'm just not willing to swap carriers for it. Moreover, again, the iPhone doesn't have a hardware keyboard. And I really don't like the software keyboard. (I have a 1st gen touch.)

Martimus,

I'm looking at the Samsung Epic. Despite some complaints from others, I've always found they turn out a good product. Further, the Phone looks like it won't limit me from doing what I want from a hardware perspective. (Keyboard? Check. 1 Ghz Processor? Check. Good Video Processor? Check.) Considering I'm most definitely a power user, this looks like a good match considering I also like to do emulation, 3d gaming, etc. (aka processor intensive stuff.) I was more or less waiting for something with similar specs to the droid to hit Sprint. And this looks VERY good.

My only worry is the battery life. But maybe the solution is a second battery? I understand Juice Defender does well at managing battery power.

Steven58,

How heavy of a user are you?

Look at it this way, bro. When I am walking down the street with my DX in my pocket, you can hear the thud of my footsteps a mile away! ;)

Seriously, I do all my business calling, emailing, fun, games, texting, browsing, through the DX.

Here's a list of my apps for reference:

That's a nice list of apps you have. The battery life on my pre is Abysmal. About two hours of web browsing and it's down to 31 percent. I'm gathering Samsung/Android will be more efficient. Which is good. I like a smartphone I can actually use without fear of "If I play this game will I be able to make it to the charger..." I might buy the extra battery just in case though. Never hurts to have a spare...
