After the EVO and the EPIC, what is next for Sprint?

Sprint released the Palm Pre June of 09 and it took them a year to bring another blockbuster, the Evo and the Epic relased just two months later. We keep hearing of all these other great phones coming to AT&T, Verizon and T-Mo but I am not hearing anything new for Sprint. Maybe I am not looking hard enough?

I have a Pre on my second line that is up for an upgrade but not interested in the Epic.

I dont think you'll be seeing another blockbuster with Sprint till Christmas or (more likely) the following summer. Which is fine, I mean, honestly, I think all the droids over at VZW is overkill. Sure they attract customers, but most of which are blind and dont realize that there is a lot of redundancy on those shelves. I think Sprint has a great duo with the Epic and the EVO. All with the best value in service/data plans.

maybe a WP7 phone on Sprint for C-mas?

In all honesty there probably will not be new phones until Q1 or Q2 of 2011, at the very earliest.

Look at the Hero / Moment, they came out in 11/09. Everyone said wait to buy, there'll be new phones soon.

Well the next Android phone was the Evo, coming out June or July 2010, almost a year later.

Do you really want to wait?

My upgrade is Nov, and I'm going to get the Evo or Epic. By the time you wait for the next phone, you will have missed almost an entire year already.

And if you really think there are new phones coming out on Sprint, there would have to have been SOME rumors by now. So far, I have heard NOTHING about new phones, except for something called "Transform" that sounds like a low-end Hero or Intercept replacement.

You can always wait, and miss your 12 months upgrade, if you're a Sprint Premier customer.

I can't see any reason to assume there would be rumors already.
And the market has changed a lot since the Hero/Moment launch a year ago. Verizon/Moto weren't even competitors then. Now they just relased three new superphones in a super tight time frame.
I would be absolutely shocked if Sprint didn't have something new in January/Feb (right after everyone's 30 days are up from buying an Evo/Epic on special at the holidays ).

I would have to disagree. I'm a premier member and I was told both by a friend that works at Radio Shack and a Sprint CS that until my two year mark I can not get the full upgrade deal or else I'd have an EVO right now.

Sorry, they are wrong or you are not a Premier Member. Premier Members get a full upgrade every 12 months on the main line.

I've been able to get a full upgrade every 12 months for the past couple years. So either you aren't a premier customer or if you have multiple lines on your account, the line eligible for the 12-month upgrade is on another line on the account.

Hello..*knock knock*...Sprint are you there?!

I feel like I've been hearing about a new device dropping on AT&T or Verizon (even some on T-Mobile) everyday! And where is Sprint? Did they put everything they have in the EVO and Epic? I know, I know...Sprint is first in 4g. Well what about those of use that could care less about 4g? Do we have to switch carriers just to get new phones?! (Personally I'm not going anywhere...just sayin) Sprint dropped the Hero and the Moment a year ago and the EVO and Epic recently (the Intercept was in between but come one, not much to right home about there, and the i1 is Nextel so I don't count that ;)). Does that mean we have to wait until NEXT year to get a couple more good Android phones?!

I agree(and I am dropping Sprint)...They must spend ALL their money on one big phone a year and a stupid amount of advertising or something.

I just don't understand how they can't give some kind of selection. Technology moves just too fast imo to be buying a year old phone that is already declared not getting anymore updates.

As nice as the Evo and Epic are I just don't see a selection of phones that interest me anymore. Even though monthly prices for Verizon imo are outrageous I would say they got it right with phone selection.(cept for the Bing fiasco)

Um there won't be a CDMA W7 phone until mid 2011 at the earliest. Please don't spread false rumors.

what false rumor? as of right now sprints stance on windows phone 7 is around launch date. Sorry I work for the company I've played wiht one sprint branded windows phone 7. The only thing that will stop its launch is if microsoft and sprint have agreed to wait till 2011. So till you know what your talking about please just keep your mouth shut. I am much closer to the source then you will ever be.

Yes becuase a carrier has to drop a reiteration that's not really better than any of their other lineup, just to be current :rolleyes:

What's the point of dropping 10 different phones in 2-3 months when they are all similar or the same? Seriously?

seems Verizon is approaching the land over lapping phones. I think thats why sprint is being the way it is. Doesnt need 3 phones so similar in its inventory.

LOL are you serious?

I have friends who work at Microsoft in the mobile division. And if that's not enough, here's some additional proof: Windows Phone 7 Avoids CDMA -- Why? - PCWorld

I'd keep my mouth shut if I were you, your credibility has gone down the drain. You're looking might silly right now.
