New G1 User

Hey all, my name is Luke and last night I ordered a black G1 from carphone warehouse (UK), I just have a few questions and hopefully you can help me out!
1) Is there anything that I should be warned of?
2) Is there a good deal of apps being uploaded?
3) Is there any acessories that any of you advise to get?
I am not having it until christmas (Being 15).
I hope to learn more about the G1, and I cannot wait to get my G1 :)

In the interest in being helpful, but HTC is right a search will probably be good for you, too.

1 - Battery life is not so good. You will most likely have to charge it once a day. Depending on your lifestyle and usage you may want to bring your charger with you. If you're in front of a computer during the day, it will charge on a USB mini-cable (one comes in the box) so you can use that as your "second charger" so long as you have a computer available.

You can't run programs from the SD card yet. SO don't go crazy with downloading Apps. I've been downloading and then trying them out, if they have bugs, I uninstall. If they work, I decide whether or not they are useful enough to keep, and I always have a few apps in mind to delete if I get the "memory storage low" message. Keep in mind that ANYTHING you download and install, and then uninstall, you can absolutely re-install at a later date. I think this is mostly just to keep you from having to pay twice once the pay system is in place.

If you've done your research, you probably already know about some of these, if these are surprises, please please please read articles at http://phandroid.com/ and please look through this forum.
