What do your X Screens look like?

1 month later, I've totally revamped my look - thank you LauncherPro 7.9.0 & Desktop Visualizer!! LP 7.9.0 now supports a customizable homescreen grid size! I have 6 rows and 5 columns across! My total grid now supports 30 icons, as compared to the standard 16 :D

  • Screen 1: Extended Controls + Desktop Visualizer Widgets
  • Screen 2: Beautiful Widgets Smaller Home Weather, Smooth Calendar, Stock Music Widget, & Desktop Visualizer Widgets
  • Screen 3: Desktop Visualizer Widget (Gallery) & Turtle Photo Frames
  • Screen 4: Google Voice Widget, Touchdown Combo Widget (Work e-mail + calendar) & MotoBlur Messages Widget (Text + Gmail)
  • Screen 5: AudioManager Widget, Turtle Photo Frame (with personal goals made in excel :)) and standard shortcut icons!

I'm also using Fabolous' port of the REVOlution theme :D

Also I'm most proud of the RockPlayer widget icon as well as the Car Dock icon since I made those in Photoshop using a template I found! Some of the others are "borrowed" from members of this forum! Thanks vylette!!

Hmmm, I've taken screenshots in the past, but for some reason it's not working now. Dalvik debug monitor isn't detecting my device for some reason. I've tried PC Mode, Windows Media Sync, and USB mass storage. V Cast Media Manager detects it when I have it under Windows media sync, but Dalvik monitor doesn't. No idea what could have changed. Well, I did do a factory reset of my phone since it stopped working (and that fixed it so it was a wise decision). But there's no software of anything to install on the phone for the Dalvik monitor to work that I recall. Under Name it just says nothing, whereas before it said Droid X. So screen capture is grayed out. Any ideas? Thanks...

See, I installed and used ADW Launcher before I even knew about Launcher Pro and loved every minute of it...I'm not sure why it doesn't get as much love?

I'm debating if I should load up LPP or ADW when I get my replacement device tomorrow. I love the folder option.

To me ADW seems to be more customizable wit the options of how you want this to happen in your menus and what not, but a big draw back for me is the lack of screens. It only has five where as LPP has 7. Plus I like the layout of the lower bar (don't know what it's technically called) the one where you have your menu and you can flick through like three times. I think it'd be cool if you could flick through and have double layers of menus there. So two menus for every flick sideways and you flick upwards for the other screen. I like how ADW does that hide the bar with the shortcuts thing. I think they both have their perks, but imo they both beat the stock launcher.

Ref the above, I'm using ADW with 7 screens. From the homescreen, click menu, then edit - here you can add/delete screens, move them around etc...

Woot, finally got screenshots through the Dalvik monitor to work again by turning off and on USB debugging. In any event, I had to do a factory reset of my phone not too long ago since everything was freezing up. The hard reset definitely resolved all the issues and I could once again make phone calls! Which was a nice touch. Not sure what cause the issue; perhaps too many apps or something, who knows.

In any event, here's my setup that's similar to what I had before with some new inspiration from this board. I can't decide if my text icons (on the far left and right screens) are worth it as it's really just for aesthetics and don't serve much additional functionality/feasibility as there are typically linked somewhere else (I also have 3 docks, but only the first one is shown). I think the one on the far left looks decent, but the one on the far right is a bit fugly (had to take a picture of that one as I removed it before got screenshot tool to work). Took me way to long to make those icons though, so I don't want all that work to be for naught. haha!

In addition, I meant to put the Google Search widget up top on the homescreen instead of Vlingo, but there's a weird bug that after using it once, it was moving up a bit near the top and overlapping with notifications. It not only looked bad but made me unable to use it anymore! I removed and re-added and restarted my phone several times. It'd look fine and work the first time around, but then would move and fail. So, I put Vlingo there, which looked better with my color scheme anyways, and simply added a search icon to the homescreen. Vlingo has a couple functionalities that I like more than Voice search, so it's not bad having both in my mind. (I like the "find coffee shops near Cambridge" results more than Google's version. Can also add subject to e-mail unlike voice search).
