.::Droid Incredible Lounge::.

Hey guys

As I'm sure most of you have noticed, there seems to be a bit of tension between some of the different forums. This isn't what AF wants and we hope that everyone can get along together! Subsequently, the decision has been made to close or move all of the "extra" lounge/water cooler threads and put them all in the Lounge. This will encourage all users to interact with each other just a little bit more, help calm the nerves when someone "new" shows up in the wrong forum and ultimately lead to a more helpful and friendly site for all of us!

Feel free to read and post throughout all of AF (yes, this includes the phones that you don't own) but please keep in mind that, as always, the Forum Rules will still apply regardless of where you post!

Now quit reading this and go make some new friends

Agreed. I like the fact that we are more one entity, but I miss the fact that it will be WAY harder to find this thread and remain close to my buds!

The way i find every thread is 2 ways.

A. i get email alerts from all my subscribed threads

B. any time i logged onto the website, i click on "User CP" which will show all my subscribed threads ... i click through one at a time.

this thread, is of course subscribed

I agree and is what I would suggest to others. Personally though I am subscribed to well over 650 threads. With 100 of those constantly active. Can be difficult at times to keep up with regardless of where or sticky or not.

I really don't like this decision, you'd think they would have made a poll first to see how we members feel about the change, we are the forum after all.

It also scares me on how fast Nmayer's dissenting post was pulled from this thread! So much for freedom of expression, even among the Guides!

G'morning all...tired is no bueno and this is day 5 without coffee...I think i might have to break this habit of no coffee...its starting to take its toll...

On the bright side its upgrade day and im going to talk to them and see whats up...Prolly order online. Just need to make my decision.

I agree. There was already a general Android lounge. The subfourms are for those with a common interest - i.e. their particular model. At least they kept it as it's own thread.

The admins thoughts, as I understand it, is that the Lounge threads fractured the original intent to have an across-the-forum water cooler, making a kind of cliquishness. I don't see the harm, as long as we check the thread throughout the day. What difference will it be where it is if we keep it bumped?

To paraphrase Don Cherry - Come to the fights and watch a hockey game break out. Loved the Rockies was disappointed when they moved to Jersey. Now I'm a die hard Avalanche fan.

additionally, keeping the lounges in one place makes it easier to socialize with other phone owners in their lounges. We're in here together and we can keep each other bumped.

True but you must admit that we generally don't talk about anything that has to do with our phones. In that respect i understand, all i got to say about that

Well it can be said that as a guide, he might be held to a higher level and should uphold any decisions made by mods/admins. However, as said above this is just a forum! We are all here with a common interest. We arent working for some major company, on a multi-million dollar project. We are here shooting the shit and killing time. Learning, helping, reading, joking, etc.

In my opinion, which i understand isnt worth anything, we would do a lot better with a much more relaxed and laid back set of mod rules. Yea yea we risk the forum being a mess and setting on fire, and people coming for info and not finding it ... but all in all the community would be happier and not feel like they arent allowed to post, or be afraid to post in the wrong section, etc.
