From what I've seen it's a mid range smartphone, it doesn't look very appealing though and to make it worse it's made by Samsung.

Think I'd rather have the HTC Wildfire than this phone.

Got a good deal thro' Orange for the Apollo. I am glad I did as I am very impressed.
So far all well. Very quick. Disappointed that there was no sd card included, especially as one can't take a photo unless there is one.
Nice phone boasting Android 2.1.
Not sure if the Apollo will get 2.2 - anyone know?

The Desire forum is hardly the best place to ask for information on a Samsung phone. You'll probably have more luck in other forum sections. But Samsung have a terrible record for updates it seems, so I highly doubt you'll see 2.2 any time soon, if at all.

Hey friends

I think we all should send emails and contact Samsung and let them know about the battery problem and the GPS problem we all are facing so that they release a firmware upgrade for Galaxy 3 GT-I5801 as soon as possible and rectify the problem.That's the only solution at the moment.I am definitely sending a mail to Samsung and hope others also do the same.

Ya I really feel sorry for the decision to buy Samsung Galaxy 3. The worst battery I have ever seen......!!!!!!!! Wont last for even 8 hours that also without using any application , wifi , gps etc... Can not go outside with it.......Otherwise have to take the charger also!!!!!!!! Send mail to the customer care......but no reply......... Really lost Rs 12,500

Samsung will release 2.2 for the apollo. I currently have the apollo and I've got to say my battery lasts about 40h on average. That's with me sending about 200-250 texts on average, answering about 30 emails, playing music with mixzing, and about 45 minutes of calling. I'd say it's pretty decent. I also play some throttlecopter when I'm bored. So the battery is not an issue. the processor works perfectly fine. The phone is good.
