Improved keyboard for the Slide

It appears that HTC has 2 different versions of the Mytouch Slide with different keyboard. The new keyboard feels a little stiffer but a lot more responsive so far and also lights up better and has a better light sensor. You can tell if you have the newer one by looking at the zero on it.

i've had both types too. (currently the new style) i haven't noticed much of a difference...maybe they (the buttons) are a little firmer...but truth be told I'm a swype man so i almost never use the slide out. I do think the new one looks tons better...just don't understand why they didn't do something like the new one in the first place.

Be weary of those replacement devices I am on my third replacement now and the forth is being processed. My fifth Slide all together. As much as I like like the keyboard on the one I got yesterday the screen wobbles when you touch it. My old one doesn't, so I still am sticking with it waiting on the next one. I was going to get a G2 when it comes out but after this phone and thinking of that z-hinge I will be passing.

sometimes I think I'm the only one that got perfect mts.. I have yet to have a problem with mine in any way....

BUT I HAVE A Question where is the light sensor located ?

I thought it was in by the earpiece, but I'm not positive.

yup proximity and light sensors on the right side of the ear piece and led notifications on the left.

I view that is why my always lights up... the way I hold my phone I must cover the sensors...

They both have all the same keys the only difference is the that on the newer style the numbers and symbols are not the same size at the letters and their is a line through the 0.

Also another difference I noticed is the older keyboard had like a slight dimple in the center of the whole keyboard making it appear kind of warped which was very noticable in the white slide...

UPS just dropped off my 5th Mytouch Slide today and I must say I am liking this one.

New style keyboard, no light showing on the corners of the screen, no creaking plastic........ so far its what I expected from day one from this phone.
