I'm sure I saw the official BBC iPlayer was available for Android 2.2 - was I dreaming?

I also got the impression that Google Maps could be moved to the SD card on 2.2, but mine can't. Fantasy again???

iplayer is available... at least I was using it the other night via the web (no apps or anything).

I think that anything already in the ROM (stock apps), can't be moved to SD... it's only extra stuff you download from the market (assuming developer has enabled it).

google maps is not movable, sadly.

iplayer is not an app, but you access the webpage thought he browser.
It works well on 2.2.

Are you sure that's the official BBC one? The one that's on the market 'myPlayer' works pretty well but isn't the official iPlayer. As far as I remember the official one was pulled a while ago and hasn't returned.

there was never an official iplayer app for the android market, beebplayer was a 3rd party app, but the developer stopped supporting it and took it off the market. myplayer works well though.

Go to BBC iPlayer - iPlayer Radio Home but make sure the browser is set to mobile view in settings or you won't get redirected to the new funky mobile version that works brilliantly with 2.2.

Myplayer is a good app for downloading iplayer shows to watch later - but requires a new video player app such as Rockplayer.

There was never an official app - the poster is probably referring to the Beebplayer that was similar to Myplayer, which got taken off the Android Market.

How long it will take nobody knows but as has been said MyPlayer works well and also the web version on mobile is also pretty good until its finished.

- I read that the BBC have put mobile app projects on hold.

- Myplayer doesn't work very well at all - it's only any good for downloading iplayer content. For streaming just stick to the official bbc mobile iplayer site.

ive got an app called my player which seems pretty bbc official it works ace. u can download stuff too

i have just downloaded flash 10.1 and can no watch channel 4 on demand too which i couldnt before.

I just get a message that my version of flash isnt supported, and I need to update it - even after downloading 10.1 from market.

You can only watch programs this way if you're on vodafone or 3 or using wifi :-(

you can't watch the mobile version of iplayer on android unless you are on 3 or Voda but last time I checked if you switch off mobile view but set the iplayer on the low bandwidth version it worked just fine on orange

Hi, I'm getting this same scenario, android 2.2 and latest flash from the market installed and I can't watch BBC flash content, any ideas?
This was the main reason I was looking forward to flash on my desire

Some pages also crash the browser just by loading them, such as this one:

BBC site also seems borked in the 2.2 browser. Doesnt like swapping between shared and most viewed. You click, and nothing happens.

I can successfully view the video in your link, using the stock browser on 2.2, so no idea why it crashes for you.

As of about 10 days ago myplayer downloads seem to work through myplayer rather than needing the separate app, despite what the popup warning says. You can also open the downloads from videos within the photo gallery now

Yes I can get IPlayer via a WiFi connection.Plays well.I'm with T-Mobile but it'll work on 3 and vodafone.
