Is anyone a little disapointed?

I don't know about you but I had my heart set on 4.3 INCHES!! 3.5 or even 3.7 in. is pretty much the standard size and I was really hoping for the BIG SCREEN, so much so that for about 30 sec last night... I thought about the HTC Leo when it comes to the states,...but then I thought about WinMo and that didn't last to long. So now the question is get the Passion?, wait to hear the specs of the "Google" phone?, or wait until another 4.3 in screen, snapdragon, with Android Phone going to Verizon rumor pops again.

What are YOU going to do?

I will wait until it (Passion/or whatever it will be called) is released and I can see it and touch it to decide what it is I will do. I want the 4.3 as well, that is a big part of me waiting fo it.
For now I will just be poking along here with my Storm1.
But one thing for sure, I will be leaving Blackberry for sure.

+1 to both! That was a huge part. Now I wanna know when a phone like that is coming because I would HATE to get the Passion (3.5in) and later this coming year (2010) a 4.3 in screen with Android (be it whatever company) is released.

Screen size isn't so king to me. Snapdragon, Sense, Android 2, good camera (hopefully 720p capture), higher resolution. Give me that and I wont care if its 3.7 or 4.3.

All of which is still tempting me to get it when released. Maybe its cause I'm a Storm 1 owner and with this phone I feel like I made a mistake not researching and getting exactly what I wanted. I had 30 days to return but I was expecting it to be more and it never produced. So I want my next phone to be everything I want it to be. I'll need a couple days to heal and see what I think....the scars are still fresh...LMAO!

Im very happy its not going to be 4.3"

3.7" is the sweet spot. Nobody wants to carry around a 4.3" BRICK that cant even fit in your pocket.

They're saying 3.5 and isn't the bravo going to be pretty much the same thing then....If they are separate phones of course.,..which I think they are. Besides the HD2 is really not much bigger than my storm I don't think I know its slimmer!

I'm in the exact same boat. Got the Storm 1 on launch day. Now I'm damn near in fits thinking do I really want the Passion/will be just fine with the Eris.
Don't look at it as 4.3 vs 3.7. Look at it as at the very least if you get a Passion its screen will be half an inch bigger then the phone you have now.

I am definitely dissapointed, but like someone above said, the smaller screen size doesn't bother me. I honestly like the size of the Eris and was just holding out for something with a faster processor. So my dissapointment is more that I am tired of getting excited about something that keeps getting pushed into the future. This is a true test of patience for me; we'll se how long I last.

I'm disappointed it's pushed out to "early 2010" which could mean March or April. I'm tired of waiting and I'm formulating a way to get the Eris in the interim without touching my contract discount and NE2. 3.5" kinda bums me out as I was hoping for the sweet spot of 3.7"-3.8" but if it's WVGA, that'll be something. And if it's AMOLED, that'll be another nice consolation. I need something ASAP and I don't want to wait another 3-4 months. I do know that when I get something on a 2 year contract, it better damn well be what I want. The Eris is nice, but it's a compromise I'm not willing to live with into mid-2011. The only true thing going for it is that it's HTC and it has Sense, which is what I want as icing on my cake, not the whole enchilada. ...now I'm hungry. :D

I'm very disappointed. In fact, i'm so disappointed, i'm not spending any more on smartphones for a while. I'll struggle along with my Storm and iPhone until someone comes out with a groundbreaking phone. I'm sick and tired of paying for small incremental improvements in processing power, screen size and storage. The smartphone industry is the new PC industry, new model every few months only slightly improving on its predecessor.

I guess i'm just bummed that this phone might not come out, not having the 4"3 screen and Android is a deal breaker for me. 3"7 is just not enough of an improvement over my 3GS for it to matter. I hate to say it, but i'm willing to bet Apple will capitalize on the large screen buzz generated by the HD2 and Passion rumors and come out with at least a 4" screen for the 4G and sell it along side the 3GS. I also hate to say that if they do, they will be the ones to get my money again, sigh....

You guys gotta remember that the Bravo, which everyone is alluding to, is a European phone and the release date is irrelevant to the dates being posted for US release. I still dont know why this seems to escape people. Hype obviously put some drunk goggles on people.

problem is that other sites are acting like the entire HTC catalog got released and dont say that it was the european catalog for Tmobile.

The only thing I guess could be the hold up on an HTC device, 4+ inches with Android is the AMOLED technology. Maybe they are working on a new display. I just researched a lot of info last night on OLED technology and it's sharper (better resolution), Thinner (mm's thick), deeper blacks (than LCD), but it also consumes like 20% less power. It would make sense to use that instead of the color transflective TFT LCD screen from the HTC Leo on a newer "Android" version. It should save a lot of battery life in the "Passion" if what they said about the Snapdragon not consuming to much power is true. Also would make what the CEO said still true cause it would be different hardware than the HD2.

Maybe its wishful thinking by me but I can't see why a company like HTC wouldn't jump on releasing a phone like the HD2 with Android in the U.S. A country built on "Bigger is Better", I can't imagine a phone like that not kicking a$$ in sales. Especially since the thing is like only a quarter inch bigger than the iPhone. The first company to put in enough and come up with a really nice 4 inch display is going to do very well.

I hear ya. Every phone that comes out just has small incremental improvements. They always try to make it the iPhone killer too. WHY DON'T SOMEONE JUST DO THAT AND MAKE AN IPHONE KILLER! Throw all the new wave technology into a kick a$$ large display, put Android on it, cause it is the only OS that even potentially has a chance against the iPhone and try to beat it. Quit messing around upgrading this a little...make that a little better.
