Eris to v2.x, when?

From my experience working in sales and dealing with the people front line in sales of different stores, I wouldn't put a lot of faith in what the sales person says. Not only does information get passed down a company's grape vine jarbled, but they are not made aware of changes or delays in most cases made later.

I was in the Verizon store on Saturday and the lady helping me said they are expecting the update to hit begining/mid January. Apparently it will update our system a bit more than what the Moto Droid has. :D

Not true. The Droid will always stay one step of the Eris in terms of OS. You don't spend $100 million advertising a product and allow another device to step ahead of it.

Absolution: An absolving, or setting free from guilt, sin, or penalty; forgiveness of an offense; An acquittal, or sentence of a judge declaring an accused ...

correcting spelling/grammar/context of other posters online shows weakness.

Advertising means nothing in regards to what phones are ready for what OS and the like. I would assume the Moto DROID will always have the latest OS as it is run in it's vanilla format.

The time it takes HTC to adapt Sense for the new version is a hindrance, but you never really know what might happen.

IMHO I would rather wait for a "Sensed" android install then be stuck with stock android.

I love the Eris and went with it over the Droid for a number of reasons. But the decision for the Droid to always be ahead of the Eris is not a technical one. That decision was made at the VZW corporate level. I'm just saying the Eris will not upgrade to 2.0 until the Droid has moved past that OS.

I am originally from the show me state, please do show me proof of that.

Damn your state, I have like 5 tickets for speeding there in the last 2 year LOL.

I understand your wanting proof as I would surely would want the same. However, the information in my possession comes from a good friend under NDA so I cannot risk his job. But that being said, the proof will be in the pudding.

AND, THIS HELPS US ERIS OWNERS HOW:thinking::thinking::thinking:

Try to follow along - i quoted jlevy73 who said "I'm just saying the Eris will not upgrade to 2.0 until the Droid has moved past that OS"

So - does 2.0.1 count? Heck, i sure don't know, but it is movement forward (albeit minor, like i said). I don't even know if what jlevy73 said is correct:D

Yes - i'm ready for an upgraded OS - just like you.
