SwiftKey pre market release

Been using SwiftKey beta since Swype stopped working consistently and I got a notice this to upgrade to a final version for 99 cents (instead of $3.99 full price) directly in advance of the Market release next week. It's definitely worth 99 cents and it's learned my input habits so I hit just one button for most words. Just thought I'd let other users know.

I tried it and one thing I liked for sure was being able to change the haptic duration. Other than that I don't like predictive text and could not turn it all off.

It also offered me the update but for $2.99 (maybe $3.99) and not the .99 option. It did show in the market for .99 before the 30th but I opted not to use it.

So the bottom line was that it looked and felt like a really nice keyboard but I gained nothing for my usage other than the haptic change.

EDIT: I should add that if I was able to completely turn of the predictive bar at the top I may have bought it.

I found an annoying bug with the purchased version where numbers stored in the Google Voice application do not enter into the box when selected. The stock keyboard works fine. I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling to see if that fixes the problem.

I'm going to wait until after the twenty four hour full refund period is over to uninstall. I don't want to lose the 99 cent discount offer. I sent the developer the bug report though.

The problem with Google Voice and SwiftKey is still occurring for me after installing and reinstalling both apps. The dialog box to enter who to send a text to doesn't accept listed numbers using the SwiftKey keyboard. Other keyboards work fine. Anyone else seeing this issue? I use Google Voice for all my texting so this is a major bummer.

As I said in a previous thread, I could never get the hang of Swipe, so I have been using Swiftkey for a while now. As BoulderErisfan mentioned, it's very intuitive. I went back to the stock keyboard for a while because I have an app that for some reason doesn't work with Swiftkey, but I felt handicapped. I had really gotten used to having to type less with Swiftkey.

For 99 cents I figure I'd give it a try. I also was getting tired of Swype expiring and was willing to try something new. Wow, it is cool how Swiftkey is programmed to be so intuitive. It is easy to use and becoming one of my favorite text input apps. Shapewriter is an okay alternative to Swype' style of text input. I've been hearing good things about Smart Keyboard Pro and just might give it a try.

The developer seems pretty responsive to issues/complaints. They haven't fixed the contacts input issue in Google Voice, but if you post on their support forum, they let you know they're on it. I agree that it does get laggy in some apps, but I'm confident that updates will address the issue. I have no dog in this app, just happy to have it since I got tired of Swype's on-again, off-again betas.

Same here or might not uninstall and instead just disable it, at least until they get the lag and contacts input issues resolved. For $0.99 though it's a nice keyboard over stock. Then again there is the IME_Mod on XDA which I have too and is really nice and fast and FREE! :D
