you know, i have been with many, many, many forums, and ever since i have been with androidforums, i dont think but 2 times have i seem someone bashed for asking a dumb question, and then the topic is closed almost instantly and the ones in the post are told to look at the guidelines.

i was on a scion tc forum (my window came off track and everytime it goes down, pops back out) and posted my problem, after about 15 mins of looking around and reading somethings that i already have done, and once i posted about 2 hours later one guy bashed me told me, i didnt look good enough as the problem was addressed, i then quoted word for word the post that explained something of similarities to my problem but not my problem and told the guy, "now how is this the same issue?"

my topic gets locked, and the mod says go see your dealer, a day later my topic was deleted, and im like WTF!!!

thats why i believe the android community is a great community that cares and helps out even if the topic has been pushed multiple times, just a friendly link the the post that they need to see.

thank you again androidforums, your all a great bunch of men/women

I agree! This is a wonderful forum! I am new to Android and have many questions, they are so nice and helpful! No bashing at all :D

We have strict rules governing the nature of interaction, here, which is one of the reasons I love this place. :)

Once again, I agree. It's supposed to be that way over at Crackberry also, but I think the mods are just overwhelmed at times.

Just for kicks, I visited Crackberry after my last post (haven't really been there since getting my DX) & not much has changed. Still basically just complaints & arguing.

Now back to enjoying this forum & my DX. :D

the addition of new mods and guides has made a difference!

i bashed around here once.. i got an infraction for it..haha.. it was to the mods about moving a thread that i didnt think needed to be moved.. every forum has the mods that are on their high horses and have huge E-egos.. its ok though..

Huge e-egos? I chat a lot with the staff, and let me tell you we're just regular guys. We mostly are active members which were chosen to help keep this place clean and enjoyable for everybody. Sometimes I think the users see us as a threat, but we're usually very friendly. :D

We do have to give out infractions when we see fit, and let me tell you we don't like to do that. We'd all be much happier if everybody was respectful and no one needed warnings, infractions or a ban.

We listen to your feedback too, sometimes we can make mistakes, there's no hiding it. When you don't like or understand one of our decisions, the best thing to do is to send a mod a private message (if you keep it respectful I can guarantee that you'll receive a nice answer explaining the situation). We can see the actions of the other moderators and sort things out pretty quickly. ;)

this is a stupid post. post something useful to the community, or gtfo.

i keed, i keed. honestly though, i dont even think it has anything to do with the strict guidelines, i just think we have a really great group of people here, who are all really helpful.
the "experts" here remember we were all n00bs at one point, and know it's far more productive to help teach the ones who want to learn, rather than just flaming them for not knowing all the answers.

something else i really like, is that when a topic gets heated, and people dont agree about something, they always seem to keep it respectful and constructive and often both sides learn to see it from another point of view.

thanks for the post. it's so true. thats why, out of all the android forums out there, i spend most of my time here.

with 10,000 posts, and over 1200 thanks', i'm pretty certain you're a robot, tasked with posting useful information on androidforums. i'm pretty certain it would take a dedicated supercomputer 6 years, 4 months, 3 days, and 12 hours to replicate those stats. :p

I doubt that you have been to MANY forums.
I would say AndroidForums is about average to above average as far as niceness goes.
The fanboyism is about right at the average as well.
Nothing unusual.

wait, average fanboyism?..thats a deal breaker for me. And to think I was gonna get the Droid Pro...

well, now I might have to go IPhone in december...because those guys really know how to be loyal.....
