Is there a way to turn off the screen while on a call

Is there a way to turn off or lock the screen while making a call, instead of having to wait until the screen times out. Or is there an app for this.

Yes , their is an app called "Power Manager" which allows this option to turn off the screen during a call and other Power saving Techniques. The full Version cost's $0.99 or you can always give the Trial version a go both versions are on the Android Market now

Where in Power Manager is this setting I don't see it anywhere...I just got a call and screened just stay on.

I've been using the Proximity Sensor app, works pretty well. It uses the light sensor on the phone to tell if you've put it up to your ear. Doesn't turn off the screen, but locks it so no accidental button presses:

Dude you are the man!! This is exactly what I was looking for...you need to spread th word on this there are a lot of people looking for an app like this...
