Samsung Galaxy S i9000 Froyo Update-Delayed

Hey Samsung Vibrant family, Got some bad news, Finally got some update about Froyo update for Samsung Galaxy S(Im thinking its going to affect us Vibrant owners too since its the same phone). IT HAS BEEN DELAY TILL LATE OCTOBER!!! You can read more here Froyo update for Samsung I9000 Galaxy S delayed until October - GSMArena.com news This sucks but I knew something like this was going to happen.

Great...our freakish misery continues. Now I'm even more glad I took the time to install a custom ROM. Damn you Sammy! Damn you! :(

Custom Roms are where it is at. I'm really not sure I care too much about 2.2 because I still want to be rooted and using custom roms. Once it does come out, there will be custom roms available using 2.2 so there is no real advantage right now, or later on to get the OTA 2.2 update. I will NEVER leave anything stock...I just can't do it...must...fight...the...urge...CANNOT!!!!!!

ROOOT IIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!! :)

I talked to a sammy rep yesterday and have pretty much the same info from them. The 2.2 build will be ready for US carrier review at the end of October. If a carrier approves it then it'll take no less then two weeks for the carrier to be able to release the final build(not sure why it take two weeks but that is what the rep said). But if a carrier wants mods done to the rom then that carrier will get the build later then the two weeks. So all in all the soonest any one US carrier will see 2.2 roll out is mid November. But then again the rep said the base build will be ready sooner and there is this site that proves it.....
