At least TechnoBuffalo is fairly unbiased. Doesn't necessarily get the facts straight, but typically good reviews.

Mostly fair review IMO for a STANDARD user who uses the phone right out of the box.

2.2 vs 2.1 will always end up with 2.2 being the winner regardless of how you cut it.


Bottom line: Both are great phones. Get the one that fits your needs the best.

Thats what I did, I wanted a phone with a keyboard/nice screen/performance = Epic

I stopped watching once I realized he's just another reviewer who doesn't realize you can change the backlighting timeout on the capacitive buttons on the bottom. If you've used the phone for more than.... a day... you know about that.

Yeah, I nearly choked on my cereal at that one. It's worth keeping in mind (i know this from other videos) that he's NOT running android as his daily driver

If course, anyone who has actually gone through the settings would know that, as you said.

Actually it's still not a perfect implementation when you change the backlighting. It still does shut off occasionally when you'd rather it didn't. It could have been so simple to screen icons on the glass rather than try to get cute with design.

In that case, why not take the idea further and make it possible for the user to change the order of the four white icons?

I'd imagine that it'd be a PITA to program. What if something didn't switch over correctly, what if... what if...? My guess, no one suggested it

Of course, at that point it could be taken a step further and we could program them to open the browser or the messaging app... or....

I am usually a very big fan of his videos but I am honestly disappointed with this one. I feel he has not spent enough time with the Epic in order to make a fair comparison between these two phones.

Very fair review. I agree totally with the capacitive button comments. It would be great if he did another smackdown when the Epic gets 2.2.
