With the Samsung Vibrant there is the USB cable and the charger that you plug the USB cable into (to charge it from the wall). I was wondering if charging the battery from a PC was any different the plugging the USB cable into the wall charger? I would like to just keep the USB cable plugged into my PC and charge it that way but I want to know if it will get the same charge as it would with the wall outlet..

So using the USB on the PC is the same but takes longer? or the other way around. I just want to make my battery last as long as it can. right now Im getting a day + with mid/high usage. Texting, Web, Messing with apps and a bit of game playing.. if I just use it as a phone and talk / text I get 2 days out of it. so imo the battery life is really nice I just want to keep it that way.. I also run System Panel(and have been using the monitor feature) , I dont kill to much apps with it but I do like to watch over what is using the most memory, cpu usage, ect.

oh and thanks for the fast response

You can charge the phone any way that's convenient for you. I virtually never use anything but a USB cable hooked to a PC and charge it fully every night.

Modern batteries are very durable and will last many, many charge cycles. The phone itself has circuitry to regulate the charging process, so you needn't worry about overcharging.

Using the PC method of charging won't make the battery last longer. Nor will using the wall charger lessen the battery's life . It makes no difference.

Don't use a task killer. They do more harm than good. Android will take care of the running apps.

Keep on asking noob questions and learn to search the forums. That's one reason the forums are here. :)
