Root [Theme] REVOlution for Droid X Froyo 2.2 R2 (9/14/2010)

Ok thanks I think I got everything figured out but one thing.

ever since I been running revolution, i have been using a txting app called handsent.

The problem that i have is that, i literally get two txt's (duplicates) instead of one while using handsent. I thought this may be due to a error or something so i unistalled and reinstalled and still had the same problem. Then i got fed up and just uninstalled handsent so i could just use the one that came with revolution. But the problem still arised.

But then a little bit of light decided to taunt me. I took out the battery and put it back in, and asked someone to txt me. They did and i opened with the txt that revolution came with and BOOM just one txt. But then the next txt the same problem came up.

Can anyone help please?

If you downloaded the r2 version its because it came with a seperate messaging app the same thing happened to me and I had to remove the app

Sorry, I posted this in the OP, but basically what I meant was that it is supposed to be installed over Tranquility 1.5. If not, then yes, you'll get the repeat apps (i.e. the Email, and MMS build from AOSP/Cyanogen source).

The R2 version was made with files from Tranquility 1.5. It should still work on any deodexed 2.2 though.

You can, of course, just remove the repeat apps w/ root explorer or adb/terminal commands. Look in the remove bloatware thread on how to do that.

Fab,

This theme looks awesome would there be anyway to get the alternate battery ( the one that is circular in this theme). Any info would be great

How comfortable are you with messing with your phone? If you know what you're doing, you can change the icons in the downloaded framework-res at your own discretion. And if you just copy icons from another theme you can basically customize everything with a simple copy and paste. Since the themes are free to download, I don't assume anyone would have any problems with any of us copying icons, etc. from other themes and creating our own.

Yeah, I have no real idea how do things such as messing with the framework. It seems fairly hard to even find a place where you can download the alternate battery icon set. The links on xda are all dead and the one on his site is not even a link.

Yeah, I don't blame you. What I did was download another theme that had the icons that I preferred and just copied the pertinent icon files from one framework-res to the other, then pushed it back to the phone...I'm totally new at this, so I could have been tempting fate with that, but it worked.

Also, have you checked out this thread: http://androidforums.com/droid-x-all-things-root/167180-droid-x-roms-themes.html ? D13 had done a pretty thorough job of compiling the links to all the current themes into one location.

Just curious, does the 2.2 theme change the lockscreen? I really liked the 2.1 version but the 2.2 one just gave me a black status bar and evo theme

It doesn't change the lockscreen in 2.2, since Motorola added their own slider mechanism, it bypasses the theme's image files. Actually, I could change it, but it'll take a little more work, since Moto's images do not follow the same format as stock Android's.

Maybe in the next revision :)

+1 for this. I'd love to see a REVOlution themed lockscreen! (or at least the lockscreen from the screenshots)
And a themed incoming call screen, too, it is just too tacky for my phone to have the old one (from 928Black Glass) with the new theme!

Love the theme, just two minor updates and it'll be perfect!
(Oh, and can you re-post the themed FB? None of the various links I've tried give me an installable .apk file, it just says "error parsing the package")

Ok I am also wondering about the double text I even stopped the auto receiving for the stock messaging app and revolution messaging app and only using Handcent.....but im still getting a double text even though now handcent popup registers it as one but if you click on the convo it shows two....anyway to solve this never had this issue before installing the rom.........which THANK YOU i enjoy it a lot besides this nagging issue.

Here you go man. This is my first time trying this so proceed with caution. :)
@Fab I hope it's OK to MOD your work. If not tell me and I'll take it down.
Thanks
