Droid compatible with Prius?

Has anyone managed to play music on their Prius using their Droid?

I had no problem adding the phone for hands-free dialing, and transferring my phone contacts. But when I go into the Audio screen on the car the "BT" tab is unselectable.

I also tried going into my phone BT settings Options screen for the Prius device "CAR MULTIMEDIA", and *unselecting* "Use for phone Audio", leaving only "Use for media audio". Then it won't connect any more.

So I'm wondering if it's even possible to connect the AD2P for Stereo Audio to the Prius. The Prius Nav manual says it needs devices to support the AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile). Maybe Android/Droid doesn't support that particular BT profile? Putting my phone into "Discoverable" doesn't make any difference.

BTW, I also can't select AUX when I plug my Droid into the AUX USB input. That just seems wrong...

When I make or receive a call on my droid while in my prius, after the call ends I am confronted with a black screen. There are no icons on the screen that allow me to "end" the call or move to another screen. It stays black until it does it's automatic lockup. Then the screen returns. During the time it is black, incoming calls are missed because they do not ring. If I call and get a busy signal, I am unable to end the call because the screen is blank, and I cannot move to another screen. My prius is a 2004 and my motorola droid is less than a year old. I do not use bluetooth.

@billiereaney: If you don't use bluetooth, what *do* you use? I don't know of any way to connect my Droid (2.2.1) to my car (2010), except using bluetooth. I *wish* I could use the Aux jack, but that doesn't seem to work (except to charge my phone). USB won't stay connected.

To hang up the call I use the button on the steering wheel.

@wmarzahn: I have NAV, so I'm afraid I don't know what is available without it. The 2010 NAV system supports the Bluetooth Phone Book Access Protocol, and it is fairly straightforward to transfer your phone contacts: when the phone book is empty and you touch "Contacts" it asks if you want to transfer contacts from your phone and you say "yes". I have no idea how to transfer additional contacts, but that hasn't come up for me yet.

The answer to your last question is clearly "yes".

Your question would probably be better directed to the Prius forums PriusChat | Toyota Prius Forums, News, and Accessories. There are links there for the NAV manual (and regular Prius user manual) in PDF form, which you might find helpful. I looked in both, and can only find mention of transferring contacts in the NAV manual.
