Root Unrooting DX 2.2 OTA

I've been searching all morning with no luck, so I apologize if there is already a thread on this. I rooted my 2.2 OTA X using the Droid 2 method to use simple apps like wifi tether and adblocker, so there are no major system changes. I'm wondering if there is a way to unroot the X in the event of a warranty claim or something. Is there a similar way to unroot in ADB?

there is a partial sbf that will reflash /sytem which will unroot you.

CombatChuck, can you post the link for the method you used to root your 2.2 ota? I went from 2.1 unrooted to 2.2 ota and want to root just to use basic apps like wifi tether and autokiller. Would be appreciated if you could link me to the method you used. And is there a fall back if something goes wrong? Im guessing thats called a 2.2 SBF?

interested in this as well. if we run the OTA 2.2. and we root. to unroot would require to flash to the 2.2 leaked?

I haven't seen anyone say they have or any methods to. I also didn't think we could flash back w/ 2.2 OTA like some here are saying, I thought that would brick phones w/ 2.2 OTA?

As far as i know, if you have 2.2OTA you can still root. But theres no fallback if something happens.

just kidding I have no say in who becomes a guide. on how much you know...it takes a while to see every problem Its been 10 months of android for me and 7 months of rooting stuff

if you really wanted to become a guide you missed your chance, the way I became one is about a month ago there was an announcement for people wishing to be a guide and I applied and got it. And they brought on a fair amount of people so it may be awhile.

Heres your chance for becoming a guide in my book jonathan. I just rooted 2.2ota using the 1 click method. Im guessing i have a recovery mode now that i can boot into to do nandroid backups and such?

As long as u install koush's bootstrap loader you do. Rom manager will let u do it as well. I like doing digit manually through the bootstrap loader.
