Help Samsung Galaxy S - Indian thread

Are you facing any battery drain issues with voodoo? Did you tried voodoo with stock kernel? I have read, that one is good.

As of now with stock firmware (jm8), the battery life is draining slightly faster, but that is expected.. However when I was using tayutamas mod (full version) ,the battery drain was much more significant.. Barely even a day... However right now im getting a full days use but with very heavy use of wifi and edge, so that's pretty good... However stock jm8 without voodoo had some really impressive battery life...

Guys just see the below video of desire phone. Its a video of a custom ROM. I noticed one thing that its very very very very very very fast than our poor SGS. I expect this kind of performance from SGS.

http://androidforums.com/android-themes/181228-miui-ui-2-2-amazing.html

Now this is called a high performance phone.

Lets wait and see if this gets ported to the sgs (banking on someone at xda) ...also wait for cyanogens mod , they are building it almost from scratch. Koushik (of rom manager fame ) had tweeted that he will begin working on the i9000 very soon.. So fingers crossed...

Yep ! http://androidforums.com/1536447-post1470.html
But didn't test thoroughly. Can it block some particular calls ? When the caller calls it must be blocked before he hears any ring sound. If you test with SGS's default auto reject you can get what I say. I already tried a lot of call blocking apps....

there is a 7-day trial, so you should try it. i'll do too when i get some time for it...

no, am using jg4 with voodoo and get about 3 days with a full charge. right now i am at 46% and 1d 22h since last charge :) voodoo also puts a new ultra-low brightness mode which saves a ton of battery!

Thanx for the reply mate. voodoo has some problem with JM7 and JM8.
But whats the point of using AMOLED without brightness.:p:p.AMOLED is designed to save power. I think low brightness is good only if you read books in night having all the lights off.
I love to see my screen with good amount of brightness even with higher battery drain.

Thats sad. But i like the theme mod tayutama applied on JM8. And yes for me loading of apps on adw is way faster than launcher pro. I also using "spare parts" app to make my window animations and transitions faster. I dont need any lagfix on JM8. its pretty lagfree.

hey nick...it noob but can u pls give me the link to how to flash tayutama's jm8 in detail...pls...tnx...nd is it better than jpk? cause i m on jpk wid ryanza lagfix...pls guide...

I am using a Galaxy with Reliance GSM.

I have subscribed to Mobilenet 99 plan of Reliance - However i am able to only browse (that too, at pathetic speed) but not able to use any apps like Android Market or Gtalk.

Please help. Talking to Reliance customer care so far has been a waste of time - they haven't heard of Android as well it seems.

Suggestions for operators / GPRS plans are welcome :)

regards,
Nandi

I'm using Tata Docomo's GPRS plan right now and although the speed isn't great, I'd say it's decent. I've downloaded 20MB files from the samsung app store using this connection, directly from my mobile and keep downloading something or the other from the android marketplace on a daily basis. I'm on the Rs.95-6GB/month plan.

However, I wouldn't recommend them for their calling facilities:)

Place: Hyderabad
