Root To root or not to root?

this question has been asked so many times.. how you missed this most recent 1 when you composed your thread is beyond me given it shows similar threads to the one your about to start. also might when to read the "root" section to see all that can be done.

but the simple resounding answer - if people opt to answer this question again - is... "yes - root".

Rooting allows you to customize your Droid in ways Verizon never anticipated. Every time a new ROM comes out the phone basically reinvents itself and it never gets stale. Rooting and ROMming your Droid is the best favor you could do for it.

I am in Hillsboro!

I am going from Eris to Droid. My Eris has been giving problems for a while. It is rooted and I love root, but the eris is to slow. As soon as I get Droid, its going root.
It's rumored Droid may not get gingerbread (Android 3.0) but with root it can be possible.

Root is like Christmas, you can download and switch out roms as you like, but be careful so you don't brick the phone.

Hey neighbor! :D

I promised my son we would root his Eris over Christmas break and install a custom ROM on it. Never having rooted as Eris, it looks intimidating so wish us luck.

And is is just about IMPOSSIBLE to brick a Droid rooting it. I have yet to read about anyone who genuinely BRICKED their Droid. Just doesn't happen.

Hi neighbor! It's not hard, in fact there is a one click root app for eris. I was running KaosFroyo and it was great. There are many roms at HTC Droid Eris Forum

I loved root with it, but I had to unroot to be able to send back so they won't know. Lol
