Helpful TIP for people putting on Screen Protectors

Hi all,

Anyone who tells you you don't need a screen protector for your EVO because the glass can't scratch is lying to you. Believe me, it can.

But the problem with screen protectors is that it seems almost impossible to get them on just right without bubbles or dust getting under them and making them look nasty.

Well something you may not realize is that even with the protectors that seem like they have adhesive on them, you can rinse it in water first to remove all dust and apply it - it will still stick and it is much easier to squeeze out bubbles with it wet than dry. You can even rub the "adhesive" side with your fingers under the water - it won't hurt it.

Of course, have a rag handy so you don't get any water inside your EVO as you rub the bubbles out.

** Also, to prevent my screen attracting dust before I put the protector on due to static electricity, i lightly rubbed it with alcohol, dried it with a cloth then rubbed the screen with an anti-static cloth. Again, make sure no water gets close to the innards of your EVO for obvious reasons.

Another tip I've heard is you can have the faucet running hot water so that the room steams up slightly. The water moisture is supposed to stick the the ambient dust and remove it from the air. Haven't tried this one myself, but it might be worth a shot.
FYI, invisible shield directs you to add a Very small drop of dish soap (not enough to create bubbles) to your water before dipping your screen protector.

Well the best way to do it is buy XtremeGUARD screen protector it is only 2.49 next to wash hands with soap. Turn of your evo get glass filed with water mixed with liquid soap put small amount of that mixture on evo screen and next apply screen protector. This creates perfect bubble free installation.

I normally run a HOT shower for a few minutes, and maybe even keep it on as I apply the screen protector. And DEFINITELY have some scotch tape handy to get any dust off the back or the screen as you put it on!!

Right?!?! Tack on the price of the protector to the phone, and hardly anyone would mind. It SEEMS simple to put those damn things on, only until you try -_-.

I personally had an Invisible Shield on my Evo for about a week... I didn't like how it affected the reaction to pressing on the screen (could have been in my head), but its been Sheild-less for over a month... and, not a single scratch.
