Nope. Its far superior to bugless beast. :)

What, if I may ask, makes it superior to BB? I am set to try your rom either way. I am just curious as to what improvements I would notice. Also must I use a terminal (adb) or is there a tools like the bb tools?

Sorry I am just unfamiliar with previous versions of your rom. Apparently I've been on mars or something.

Well, i don't want to start a war here....

but, my ROM is built from source, and has various tweaks to boost performance. it has an awesome theme. it has music controls on the lockscreen. it has rotary unlock. it has all the same bells and whistles that pete's rom has - minus the scripts (i don't see the value in having them with programs like titanium backup. I can add scripts if there's really a demand for them). I also interact with the community on a daily basis and I'm open to any and all feedback, criticism, and suggestions. If you miss anything from Pete's ROM I am willing to add something comparable to mine; chances are I can figure out how to get it done. Read some of the comments above, I really believe this to be a quality product.

And in closing, it's for a good cause - not lining Pete's pocket =) I have nothing against what he is doing, but he is basically profiting off the work of others (Google, other devs, etc). Any donations I ask for go directly to a charity, nothing comes to me. It doesn't go through me. I don't take a cut. I don't know if you donate or not. IMHO, It's more in line with the values behind the open source community.

No war from me. I just want the best end result ;)
As for Pete, I can't say. I use the rom because it was one of the first I saw with wireless tethering. I do like the tools though. Remembering and writing code to a terminal is not my strong suit...lol
I am going to flash your rom later this week. Are there any suggestions for me? Being as i am switching from a themed bb rom to yours. Anything you forsee would be very helpful I'm sure.

Thanks!

Wireless tether works with almost any rooted ROM =)

You can download the file from: android-wifi-tether - Project Hosting on Google Code

You should be able to flash straight from BB to my ROM. If you have any issues or bootloop, simply wipe data/cache and install again.

Btw, your signature says you have a droid x, you know this ROM is for the original droid right?

Oops. Downgraded back to my original droid and my mind is still thinking I have an X. No worries though I am on a Moto Droid original.

just installed your rom tonight, about an hour or 2 ago. first thoughts :

rom installed easily and restored market apps with absolutely no issues. seemed faster with the restoring of my apps then other roms. the rom does seem to run hot for me. temp has been hovering between 100 - 110 when in use. flashed my goto chevy kernal (wasn't sure if you were using a new one or the one i've used for so long) and still running hotter then other roms. gonna work on tweaking my launcher pro and settings now, to see if i can get things any faster. i feel like im just getting that split second delay when choosing a menu option or first begining to scroll through a menu. so far i do like the rom tho. hopefully it will settle in to my phone overnight and run like butta tomorrow! :)

update :
after some minor tweaking and adjustment of memory settings in launcher pro, i'm starting to see some of this speed that has been mentioned with this rom. like vroom vroom bitches. also, haven't had any fc's, which is unusual for me playing around as much as i have been. also heat issue seems to be getting better. i'll update again tomorrow!

so far no issues with the rom.. hasn't been running nearly as hot as t first did last night. did have some weird force closes with launcher pro, but prob. not rom related. this is e first rom in a while where wifi is working perfectly for me. battery life seems a little short, but it's still hard to tell at this point. might try a uLv kernal and see how that runs. so far so good though!

i was actually thinking about something i have yet to see with a rom today, that might be pretty cool. not being a developer myself, i dont even know if it would be possible, but.... so i love the lockscreen music controls, and was wondering if it would be possible to put a song name display, or almost a small musicmod widget type thing on the lockscreen. even just artist/songname type display would be awesome.

and i've found on my droid, that the rom is at its best performance vs battery consumption level with a chevyno1 uLv 1.2ghz kernel. this is one of the first roms where i've been able to run this kernel with absolutely no issues. pretty shweet. thanks for the awesome work!

That's a great idea, I will try and see if it is possible

A suggestion for next time would be a % in the battery icon. Like the LFY ROMS. I MM'ed the LFY battery percentage and it looks great. Maybe integrate that next time. And make it show every 10% instead of 20.

Brandon

Everyone keeps on asking for this. I think it looks sloppy, but you guys really want it's not that hard for me to do. Anyone else side with me?

first of all, thanks for all the great roms! your ROMs have always been first choice since I got my droid a month ago!
I think battery in % would be awesome if you could get something like what I had on my old phone, where it showed the % with colours, eg. 100% was in green and 50% in blue and 10% in red. Would look pretty cool.
Also I was wondering if you could get support for ad-hoc wireless networks working on your next ROM. I know it hasnt been done yet on the droid, but if you could give it a try, it would be awesome! Again thanks for all the effort :)

Question... I did a data/cache wipe and install of your ROM (awesome so far!) but when using Titanium Backup to restore my apps, I installed my backed up version of Pandora over the version included in your ROM. Did you have a smoked glass widget for Pandora? If so, is there any way for me to get it without reinstalling the entire ROM?

Thanks!

Yes, you can get "my Pandora" back by uninstalling Pandora from /data/app. You can do it with root explorer or through terminal emulator.

Su
rm /data/app/com.pandora.android

It will default back to the version installed with the ROM. Smoked widget and white notifications

Thanks for the tip Dew, I will try it out tonight for sure.

I wanted to also say THANK YOU for this amazing ROM. It is quite literally the fastest, most stable ROM I have tried up til now. I was running CyanogenMod 6RC2 until recently and that thing was locking up all over the place. Even just unlocking the phone would lag. Answering calls would lag. I was getting to the point of actually thinking about upgrading to get a more powerful processor. I found your ROM by accident last night and I have to say its like I have a whole new phone. Its snappy, no lag, screens scroll smoothly, no lockups when answering calls... WOW. Awesome.

Also, I see you ask for suggestions on the next version. After under 24 hours of use I have a few. Not being a programmer I have no idea how hard or easy these would be to do, so take them with a grain of salt.

- Custom Icons: having a custom icon set for apps that are a smoked glass look would be awwwwwsome!

- Battery level on the bar up top. I know people go both ways on this, so maybe have it as an optional setting?

- A color picker to allow customization of the font color for thinks like the status bar, carrier name and date, etc (ala CyanogenMod)

- A ROM settings panel to house the customization options. There may be one already but I havent found it yet...

Thats about it so far. Thanks again for all your hard work and for giving me my phone back. Its actually a pleasure to use it again!

Eric
