Hi guys,

New fennec a.k.a firefox for android is launched. And it has an awesome UI. It's speedy and it prompts for auto updates. Take a look.

I must admit it's MUCH better now than it was in the early betas. Unfortunately syncing with my PC is not as interesting as syncing bookmarks with the rest of my phone. Seems like that would be much simpler than syncing over the wire.

I just fired it up and found none of the mobile plug-ins seem to work. Most unfortunate. I wonder where the mobile plug-in do work. iOS? WinMo?

Let me say I am a hardcore Firefox user and have been eagerly waiting for fennec. I know it's not officially released yet, but it still feels very beta. I have high hopes for it once it goes live.

Installed it but it wouldn't load any pages. I tried to load gizmodo and it would just sit there.

It's a ram hog too, 40MB compared to 10 for the stock browser. I do like the tabs interface.

Isn't it still in alpha? lol :)

going to try it out! neat, supposedly i can sync my firefox with it... going to try that out as well

edit: the sync doesn't seem to be working for me at all. it does nothing & syncs nothing to my phone. every time i try to sync from FF, i keep getting an error about needing to update sync, which i try to do to no avail.

also, fennec is slow. & if they want me to use it, they're going to have to fix sync. i love firefox, but fennec needs a lot of work. they need to change the name of it, too.

FAIL

for now
