Another blow - no Google Goggles for us. 2.0 or die!

Do you agree that HTC should have already published the 2.0 update?

This is becoming a routine. A new great app is coming out for Android, but is does not support 1.5.
Even Google itself does not support this version since it is too old.

I am sick of this, it seems HTC does not think it's urgent to take care of its customers.

We should get 2.0 already!!!

HTC, today's smart phones are measured in cool apps. You want to beat the IPhone, start moving your people and create this d*$m update.

HTC Hero - 2.0 or die

I have only had my HTC for a few weeks and coming from a Samsung Galaxy can really appreciate the stability this phone has! Ok it's not perfect and we are all hoping that upgrades along the way will get us ever closer to where we all want to be. I and others have the foresight to see that waiting until the creases have been ironed out and making sure everything is nice and stable is surely the best way to go, it is for that very same reason i am still using XP when i would really like to be operating windows7.

Lol? How can you expect us to take anything you say seriously when you end a thread with "give us 2.x or die". Honestly, how old are you!

I think you need glasses, really...

I did not say give us 2.0 or die regarding HTC (you should practice your reading comprehension a bit, nothing to be ashamed of)

HTC hero should get 2.0 or it will die - as in thrown to the garbage

@rankorn: why dont you just release 2.0 yourself? Just write the code to do it, it's obviously very very easy and quick thing to do. So just do it.

I find it funny that people agreed to pay $600+ for a device and are so blind to what's going on around them.

The smartphones business is currently the most competitive in the world today! Google understands it - this why they release new versions and apps all the time, other phone manufacturers understand it - this is why 75% of android phones are 1.6 and above.

Why can't HTC understand it? time is a major factor here.

I find it funny that people who have no idea how long it takes to update and test a piece of extremely complex software keep stridently DEMANDING THAT HTC RELEASE IT NOW!!!!!!!. You dont have the first clue what youre talking about but that wont stop you demanding whatever you mistakenly think you're owed. SHOUTY SHOUTY ME ME ME.

Quite simply, you are living proof that the customer is not always right.

daveybaby, you are so naive, I would love to have you as a customer. Really.

Believe me that I know how the software business works. It seems you don't have a clue on how the sales business work...

But that's ok, companies make a lot of money on "great" customers like you who just feed on all their bulls&%t!

HTC manager 1: "What are we doing with 2.0 for hero?"
HTC manager 2: "Just publish this on twitter: 'The rumors are true! Hero will be getting an Eclair update. We ask for your patience as we update Sense for the fancy new Android OS.', this will keep daveybaby quiet"

Just out of curiosity, how do you know so much about how the software business works? What is your profession?

Ah, now it all suddenly makes sense.

That's odd, i'd imagine they have exactly the same amount of my money as they do of yours.

Out of interest, if they released a special update, just for you, and it bricked your phone because they hadnt finished testing it yet, would you complain? Somehow i'm guessing you would.

Or is it that, in your strange little world, theyve already got the update ready, but theyre just sitting on it to spite us, is that it?

One thing's for certain - after reading this thread they'll be quaking in their boots - expect Android 2 to be released by close of business today (there's nothing like a petulant forum rant to shake up big business).

You're right, you figured out that by yourself?

but, as opposed to you, I lift my head, look left and right, and understand we are not living in a void.

I wonder when will you start scrapping your head and tell yourself:
"wait, how come everyone else have android 3.0 and all those amazing features and I am still waiting for HTC?"
And then you will probably answer yourself:
"oh well, HTC knows what they are doing, probably fixing bugs and will give me all those great features, it's been only 3 years since I bought the device, how can I complain here?? shame on me.."
