Aholes at Sprint store

So today I was in Tulsa.. (50 mile from home), and I decided to stop into the sprint store to look at some screen protectors. The first thing that irked me was this chick that told me I needed to sign in on the waiting list. I asked her if I needed to sign in if I just wanted to buy an accessory.... "yes".

I also had my wife and two kids with me. Well, if you have kids, you will understand this. My little three year old daughter says that she needs to use the restroom, so my wife goes and asks the same chick that told me to sign in. She told my wife that they did not have a public restroom. My wifes response was " so you're going to make my little girl walk to the end of the shopping center to use the bathroom"? The lady simply said "yep", and turned and walked away, so my wife left the store in search of a restroom. I walked up to one of the workers, and asked why they could not let my little girl use the restroom. His response was "it's our policy becasue we have a lot of proprietary information back there", at which point I proceeded to inquire as to how he thought my three year old would steal their information. I told him that that was bulls#it, and left. My initial thought was to return the phone that I had purchased at this store the previous week for over $400.

As not to leave everyone in suspense, my wife and daughter walked to a huge halloween store next door, and were told that the halloween store had no restroom. In the end they had to walk about 1/4 mile to a store at the end of the shopping strip.

Sorry for the long post... I just needed to vent. This really pissed me off, and i about punched some Sprint people in the damn face. All these stores sure want your business.....(in Sprints case several hundred dollars).... but they sure as hell can't be bothered to let a little girl use their restroom.

Sorry to hear, but that's the way it is sometimes. A lot of these businesses simply don't have a public restroom, and you have to work around that.

I know you're upset, but you gotta think the big picture and not let a simple incident cause you to give up a service / plan that best suits your needs.

Hahaha! You OBVIOUSLY don't have any children!

Anyway, I used to work in a retail store in a strip mall. We were told to tell people we had no public restrooms but if there was a little kid with their legs crossed to let them use it. Their reason was better to let a kid use the bathroom then have to clean pee off the floor! Common sense people!

My point is that it is rediculous for such a heavy traffic store to not have a public restroom. If I am in a store, and I have to leave that store to take my kid to the restroom because they couldn't let her go, then I won't be coming back. And on top off that, they were dicks about it.

Fully agree...I don't see why every building wouldn't have one. I don't understand how someone in sales could be so rude.(Probably because everyone nowadays needs a cellphone and there is little competition)

Even if its their policy they should of been nice about it and as a person that doesn't have kids but has Nephews/Nieces I fully understand where your coming from.

If I gave that store my money I would be returning whatever I bought and make a complaint with Sprint. But I'm fairly vindictive and don't like a-holes.

I hate stores like that, I really hate stores that don't have a baby changing station in the men's bathroom >_< At least my daughter is way past that stage now.

The one phone store we go to let's our daughter use their bathroom. Sprint/Nextel, Verizon, and TMobile store I believe.

Hahaha! We went to the fireworks before and the only thing there that had a bathroom was a Dunkin Donuts. My 3yo daughter had to go so we went to the DD and wouldn't you know it, the bathrooms were locked! You couldn't use them even if you bought something! They had a porta-potty in the parking lot but it was so disgusting that my daughter would use it....So I let her pee behind it on DD's sidewalk.

yup I have a child and I understand policies. rules are rules. Cant break them just for you. My child needed to use the bathroom in a sprint store was told the same thing so went down the street to a resturant and he used the bathroom their not a big deal to me

I had a similar experience in a Taco Bell. Spent too long on the road after too much coffee, and The Wife drove right past 2 gas stations ("I said pull in! Jesus!"). So I finally get her to stop at this Taco Bell, which unbelievably had locked restrooms. I run to the counter and nobody, nobody is around. I'm like "Hello!" and still nobody. So I ran outside and pissed in the flowers by the door.

Anyway, when we got our Moments we went to the local "flagship" store here in town. My daughter had to go (twice) while we were there. The employee directed us to go through the "Employees Only" door (after opening it for us), past a bunch of cubicles, around a corner past the employee coat rack, to the bathroom by some lockers. We were back there completely alone, and good Lord was I tempted to "explore".

For one thing I think he said it was a "strip mall' and not a "mall", yes there is a difference. And I think he was more taken aback by the WAY they said there was no bathroom. It's not "entitlement" it's common courtesy to let a child use a bathroom. Are we not supposed to go shopping with our children?

Or why not make your child use the bathroom when there is one around? And even still, most stores in a strip mall won't have a bathroom either. Common sense. Still. Be proactive? Point is, the OP is probably exaggerating. We all do it. Strip mall or not, a 5 minute walk to a bathroom still isn't the end of the world.

Exactly what would you suggest that I am exaggerating about? The most upsetting thing was the way they responded. They all have bathrooms.... why not make them available for their customers??? And be proactive???.... do you have children? I kinda doubt that you do or else you would realize that you can make your child go to the restroom.... and then they will have to go 5-10 minutes later, also bear in mind that a three year old is not able to "hold it" like an adult can. When they need to go, sometimes they need to go now.

I don't give a crap what policy is, if someone asks me to let their small child use the restroom, the answer will always be YES. Using the restroom is not a privledge..... it is a basic need of life. I would never under any circumstances turn away a child that needed to go, and if that got me fired?... that's fine cause I wouldn't want to work for that kind of company.

Good for the Sprint employees. Why should every store have to share their restrooms with the public? Obviously the employees are a lot more likely to not destroy their own bathroom then someone who will never have to use it again. I know I'd rather not share my restroom with people I don't know.

You should see the bathrooms near my office. They're enough to make you drive down to the corner gas station and lug a 20lb key fob to the outside-accessible bathroom that was last cleaned in 1977.
