Evo running rooted 2.1, waited for unrevoked to have an update to 2.2 or work with it so never downloaded the OTA update to 2.2 . Just tried to update to 2.2 to root it again with unrevoked - but because I have clockworkmod on there it won't work. can't figure out how to remove it to update to 2.2

I don't have ra, if I need one specifically for the evo I can't find it.

What he means is that you have to download ROM manager from market and it will have an option to flash an alternate recovery. Select Amon's RA as the recovery that you want to flash.

I am not sure that this will solve your issue, you probably need the stock recovery to take the OTA.

I have rom manager, but when I select flash alternate recovery , there is no option for ra. I need to get it, but cant find a version for evo - if there is one - I can only find the hero.

Here is the link to Amon's thread: [Recovery] [28-August-2010] RA-evo-v1.8.0 - xda-developers

I don't use ROM manager so I will tell you how I did it through terminal emulator, here are the instructions:
Copy recovery-RA-evo-v1.8.0.img to the root of your sdcard
start the terminal app or launch adb
su(press enter)
flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-RA-evo-v1.8.0.img(press enter)
reboot recovery(press enter)

It took me two tries to get it on there (not sure why).

Follow the instructions on this XDA Developers thread. This tells you how you can flash a HTC stock recovery on the EVO so that you can receive the 2.2 OTA.

Apparently I left my brain at the door today -- to that end I'm going to need even simpler instructions than that. Got the .img on the root of my sdcard then lost.

followed instructions for unrevoked forever

get stuck here
D. Use a program called "Root Explorer" or another file browser to transfer the file (/cache/OTA_Supersonic_3.26.651.6-1.47.651.1_releasexxxxxxxxxxxx.zip) to the SD Card.

when I go into the cache file, theres nothing there.
