Hi All,
I have had the Galaxy S i9000 for about a month or so now and I really like it. I am a long time SE PDA user, so had to adapt a lot to use Android, but having done the grunt... I love it.
I seem to have bought (UK Orange Contract) one of the devices that does not allow booting into alternate modes (ie hold down Power + Home + Vol +/- keys to access alternate modes).
I understand this has affected a significant number of others from what I have read on this and other forums.
Here is my problem / question.
The SGS is VERY laggy. I need to speed it up... it is becoming unusable!!
(I assume the lagginess is due unnecessary bloatware which could be removed by Rooting the phone.)
Thanks in advance for any help...

- Is it possible to speed the phone up?
(What can I do which DOES NOT require access to the alternate menus - please point me in the direction of a post if I have missed it ) - Will FroYo fix the lag issues?
(So should I sit and wait like everyone else!) - If neither of the above will work?! what can I do to manage the situation better? (or should I sell the SGS!!)
Thanks in advance for any help...
