So I had an idea last night to find the original AOL "You've got mail" sound bite and make it replace the Gmail app's notification sound. That would be dorky enough to be cool. ;) So I found the .wav file, now I need to know how to do it. I'm currently on a G1 running Android 1.6, but I believe I'll upgrade to a G2 in the coming months, if it matters whether you're on stone-age Android (2 years old), or cutting edge. Thanks for any tips!

Does Android allow mapping three Gmail accounts to one device? Holy cow...

I have had 4 before, but also, currently run three. What I use is gmail count notifyer app. I have mine set up as a 1x1 widget with the name of that particular gmail account underneath. In each one, you can set preferences like notification sound, etc. But yes, 3. For me, it's work, home and ref

Can you post that ring tone?

I just looked for it and I found it on Mabilo ringtones. It's a free ringtone from a free app. Can't really search for it online though here at work, maybe _j.j._ can when he see this.

But would you really want to be associated with AOL?
Now if you could use the same vioce from the Droid! sound to say 'you have mail', that would be better.

yeah, cuz noone has "DROID" sound on their phones

I like it for the nostalgia reason.... nothing like bringing back some of those old CD memories.... I actually found one the other day in an old box of crap... hahaha. One year, I made a Christmas tree out of nothing but AOL discs. I've always had 2 trees, a formal one, and a themed one. AOL startup discs was the theme one year. I've also decorated with all my old cell phones and chargers one year. Nothing like seeing a Nokia 3500 hanging to bring out the Christmas spirit. lol
