3uk recommend a software roll back!!

Hi all

I have had issues from day one with a poor signal and have posted about it in previous posts.

I was called back from 3 customer services last night and after a lengthy chat about where it was happening etc, he recommended rolling back my software to 1.22.771.1. I am on the latest 2.10.45.2. I told him that I did not want to do this. I am going to Leeds at the weekend and told him I would check the signal strength during the journey and in leeds as it could be a local issue.

My phone is unbranded from CPW so cant understand why he mentioned maybe sending me a different phone or money off my tariff if the issue could not be resolved? This is not an option as I chose phone over network. I didnt go with 3 for any other reason.

I guess I am asking for advice rather than just ranting

Very odd they suggest that, especially as 3 release Froyo to branded phones any day now....

Shouldn't have any signal issues in Leeds City Centre though.

Well if I do have signal issues, it is definately a handset issue

Three have always been crap with their signal. I went to scotland and there was no signal at all.

If you're on an unbranded Desire why on earth do you wanna go on the 3 ROM? chances are the radio will be the same as the ROM you're already on...

Actually, I did hear someone on a bus in Leeds on the phone to 3 asking if they can get out of their contract due to bad signal. Unfortunately I didn't hear how it played out.

North Bar on North Street (also called High Briggate or something).. It has loads of European beers there. Some nice stuff. Its small, but vibrant. Won loads of awards.

Did they explain why you should roll back the software. I would think its just an excuse.

Also Im not too sure its that easy to go back to an old version of software and cant see why it would make blind bit of difference.

3UK have had a bit of a habit of not ringing me back and fobbing me off on the phone.

Mojo is good too. I work literally round the corner from North Bar, if you don't get a signal outside there you are in trouble.

A few shops were bit poor but on the whole... I have an app that checks signal strength with a max of 29. 25 here, about 5 at home

A bit of a geek one Tricorder. It does a host of mad stuff. North bar is tops. Just had a couple in there. Beer I had never heard of
