Root In Need Of a .jar file Editor

Does anyone know where I can get one....paid or free? I'm working on some themes, going a little deeper in depth. Does anyone know a great software I can use? It doesn't have to be a regular software, it can be script as well. I'm running Windows 7....

Ok, I opened it with WinRAR, I see the .dex file. I know that'll be the file to edit. Is there a program I can use to edit the .dex file?

Doesn't work like this. These files are compiled. In order to edit, you have to build from the source. What are you trying to change?

I know within the services.jar you can change the color of the carrier info and so on. I wanted to be able to try that.

Building from source is a little more difficult, since the Captivate runs TouchWiz. It's a little tough. I need help in that area....

So just use the .dex file and rename that to zip? I can already see what's in the .jar file just by using WinRAR, but I wanted to edit the .dex file, which apparently can only be done by building from source.....makes sense in a way....

i don't know if it will work for your phone but there's a program called colorchangev3.jar (google it). it should work...it does everything you're trying to do
