Help Touch screen issues

Hi all!
Just 3 days ago my Hero started to not work properly.
Touch screen (in the bottom, keys 7-8-9 of numerical keyboard) seems to be not completely sensitive and sometimes it doesn't work at all in that zone.
The curious thing is the phone starts working properly after using it for a couple of hours. If the device is in stand-by mode for a long time (i.e. during the night) the issue occurs.

Has anyone had a similar problem or know of a solution?

Thanks in advance and sorry for my english :D

Hi! Thanks for your reply!
Your phone started doing exactly the same?

it started with the upper half of the screen controling the lower on screen buttons , then to a stage where the input would just cause the on screen buttons to flash as if continuous pressing of that area of screen was happening.

if the lock screen activated , i couldn't move the screen beyond half way , it would just stick

My phone seems to be acting the SAME exact way... At first I thought that maybe it had something to do with ROM's, then I wondered if it weren't an onboard memory issue, have tried a few things that worked for a while, but since this started happening, approx. less then 18 hours, the problem has only gotten progressively worse, to the point it now won't allow me to use the keyboard, and I need to use the roller ball to select things rather then touch them. It still OCCASIONALLY will ease up on it's 'ghostly possesion' and allow me a touch or two, but when I try to use the keyboard onscreen again it freaks and starts going all over the place again, like a possessed machine.

Any word on peoples success with this problem on their own, or has everyone wound up dealing with HTC directly (or is this something for the carriers? (have sprint here)

Phone has not been mistreated, in fact had a Zagg screen on till today (took it off thinking that maybe that would relieve the problem. (BIG NOPE: It actually seemed to aggravate the issue even more, far as wonky acting ghost-touches in random places on the touchscreen. Any knowledge at all would make this sad panda happier!
