Adw launcher

Perhaps this has been asked. but I CANNOT find the thread.

I have a D1 w/ 2.2v2, I would like to know if ADW Launcher can work on my phone? How do I ge the original app( I noticed there are addons, BUT)where do I begin? Also, Is it AWESOME or what?

I am running LauncherPro-which I enjoy aswell, but I'm bored w/ it.

Yes ADW will work on your phone.

You can download ADW in the Market. If you can't find it (ADW.Launcher is the name) just click on one of the themes and view more applications from the developer.

I use them both..I donated for LP plus and I like the widgets, but ADW has smoother scrolling for me personally. I believe it also is less of a memory hog than LP.

I put that search in...BUT it seems that these apps are all "add-ons" I think I need the original home app then I can add-on...I tried and app but unable to download

Select one of the themes by the developer AnderWeb and view more applications from him. He's the dev for ADW. It'll show up, the name is ADW.Launcher

do you find this app is "slow"...btw I found it through appBraIN bu it seems laggy....is it really better than LP?

I don't think it's slow at all. It actually feels faster than LP when handling a lot of widgets on my screens. IMO

Did you change the scrolling speed at all? I have the scrolling speed at 155. I think it comes set at 750.

No ...dont know anyhting about it. new to ADW.....I actually need to unistall LP so I wil have more room internally.....(side note:I wish more devs would update so we can move apps to SD..or launchers to SD)....tell me more to optimize ADW.....and your opion what is the best "theme" for ADW..i actually saw the MAC os

I don't use a theme. You'd probably run into performance issues if you were to run a launcher from your SD card, I think apps with widgets have issues. But I agree, developers for other apps really need to get rolling on this.

There aren't a ton of optimizations to do compared to LP. Just set the scrolling speed to your preference, desktop overshoot (like the bounce back effect in LP) and I disable scrollable widget support. Same as LP just hit menu and play around with ADW settings. To get rid of the desktop dots and have 4 app shortcuts go to UI settings and disable dots, then enable secondary buttons.
