AOL Mail ?

So I set up the phone to receive my AOL email (@aol.com) with the proper IMAP setting but for the life of me can't figure out how to report as spam. When I hold down on an email- the option doesn't pop up. I can't even find the move option to move to SPAM folder. Any idea?

No clue... but someone simply HAS to make fun of the use of an AOL email address. I honestly didn't realize anyone was still using them. Figured they were going the way of CompUServe, Prodigy, etc.

You can't, plain and simple. Stock email sucks. There is no real imap folder support to report spam or move email to saved folders. This is a google issue, not aol one. Don't know if froyo gives more functionality because the evo uses HTC's own email app. So we'll see. Also, your sent mail from the phone will only show up on the phone. It will not be in your sent mail when you log on from a pc. That is on aol and a big blunder in my eyes.

In the meantime, check out K-9 or maildroid in the market as good replcement apps that give more folder support as well as push mail.

And I've had two main aol email adrs for well over a decade. Have at least five doctors I work with using aol.

Absolutely agree. You have a perfectly good AOL email address which, as an early adopter, you've had for over a decade. By now, hundreds of your friends and business associates have this email address. But you should definitely change it because.... .... ....

Absolutely agree. You have a perfectly good AOL email address which, as an early adopter, you've had for over a decade. By now, hundreds of your friends and business associates have this email address. But you should definitely change it because.... .... ....

Is AOL mail free? I thought you had to have an open AOL account.

Also, I have like 3-4 old email accounts (free ones obviously) that I have to keep around for the same reason. They have this thing called mail forwarding

Johnny, I was poking fun at jonra, not you. Was piggybacking off of your reply.

Aol went free a long time ago at the expense of customer service. They didn't really tell people so many were still paying and didn't know they didn't have to. And you can sign up for aol or aim now for free. It's really no different than other webmails.

I'm considering migrating to gmail for the issue of mail sent from the phone not being stored in the sent mail folder on the server. I think there are workarounds, but it's just a pain. Shouldn't have to think that much about email.

I don't have cable internet. I use a Sprint 4G Air modem in all of my computers and use AOL to connect through it and it works Flawlessly. I will NEVER give up my AOL service. I have had it for 15 years now. Its the best $11 a month I spend. I do find that the Android system does not push the AOL mail very well and in the interval selected. This is where Blackberry has Android on the mat hands down.

You do know you can use the service and not pay the $11/mo? Unless you're using their dial up service or making use of their customer service you're wasting $132/yr.

I spend twice that on the Illinois toll roads each year and for that I hit potholes that damage my car and stand in endless rush hour traffic jams. The $132 spent on AOL is well worth it IMO.

Nothing wrong with having aol, just don't know why you would spend money for something you can get for free. You could get netflix and watch some movies instead of paying aol.
